I'm sure Jones is a bit green to be carrying ANYONE, much less Taker to an enjoyable match. The angle might be cool, but if the match sucks shit, the angle fails and the drawing ability plummits.

I just really doubt it's a long-term feud and more of a "Where do we put Benoit" thing where Benoit, since he's got that ring general to him that can test out Jones. Hopefully. Until they actually figure out where to put him between now and No Way Out.

Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I don't know about his in-ring stuff, but I think the character has enough potential to still entertain me in spite of the bad matches. Also, I think Benoit could be pulling a Flair here. Ric Flair became a legend by going around and making rookies and the just plain bad look like a million bucks. Kurt Angle was doing the same for a while, but Anglesault insisted it wasn't the same because Kurt has precious heel heat that he needs to retain. Since Benoit is a face, and is getting Standing Os in matches he loses, I don't see what's wrong with him pulling a Flair here and carrying Jones.

He will face Matt Hardy. Yesterday WWE.com had Jones listed as making his debut on the February 3rd Smackdown house show against Chris Benoit. Looks like Matt gets to face the next big hoss instead.
