Guest pappajacks Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I've seen a pattern develop in the last month. It seems like half the matches on RAW are tag team matches. On the other hand, Smackdown's card consist almost entirely of single's competition. Again this week, all 6 matches on Smackdown were in single's competition while RAW had 3 tag team matches, including the odd duo of Hurricane and Trish. On RAW, it seems like they throw anyone together to form a tag team, yet on Smackdown they are reluctant to do so. Gerwitz must be a fan of tag team competition. Or maybe it's Heyman that dislikes it.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 maybe HHH wants to keep putting people in tag matches because he doesn't want to be upstaged on his show
Guest pappajacks Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Good point. I find it weird that Jericho, Booker T and RVD are/were stuck in the tag team division with inferior partners like Christian, Goldust and Kane.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 C'mon, don't rip into Goldust, I don't think he's inferior anymore, he's earned his stripes pretty much. Smackdown used to be that show when the hard sell would come around. I didn't know how many "random main event faces vs heels" tag matches I could stand.
Guest converge241 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 yes i swear there have been some weeks where thats all its been regular full time tag team vs each other the old Wrestler A and B have issues with wrestlers C and D so lets tag mixed matches six mans
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 Smackdown has a problem in that virtually the entire tag division are heels. Matt & Moore Los Guerreros Team Angle Show & A-Train Cena & Red Dogg Noble & Nunzio Edge & Rey are the only face team in the bunch. Kidman is in a lot of tag matches, but he seems to get a new partner every week. They should team Tajiri & Funaki together.
Guest The Superstar Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 Yeah, with people on both RAW and Smackdown, they should try strengthening the tag division by putting together guys who aren't doing anything. It may seem weak NOW, but if they build these other teams up on the B shows, they could, in a little time, become somewhat 'established' and voila, a strong tag division for both shows.
