Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I don't understand why people dislike Steiner so much. Lemme add my list up too.....
Guest Banky Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Yea Steiner is worse than Bull Buchanon? When was I notified about this? And where do I sign up for the blind Steiner hatred wagon?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Steiner is the worst wrestler in the WWF aside from Kevin Nash.
Guest TheyCallMeMark Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Well I already wrote the whole list in the other thread, and the fact is I want to keep the illusion that there is some sort of consistency to my opinon, so I won't try to think of them over again and put them here. Suffice to say I think my list looks a little different than everyone elses. Sinfully different.
Guest Banky Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Steiner is the worst wrestler in the WWF aside from Kevin Nash. Worse than Bull Buchanon? Than Rikishi? Than Big Show? Than Rosey and Jamal? ATrain? Triple H? C'mon now, he's not great but not that bad.
Guest Bling-Bling Buchanan Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Steiner is so bad that the crowd made a 180 turn against him because he sucked so badly. That rarely if ever happens. As for Buchanan, there's just something about the guy that I find entertaining. And I don't care what Scott Keith says, his top rope spot rocks.
Guest Brian Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I can find redeeming qualities in Buchanan's ring work. I'd be pressed to find anything in Steiner's.
Guest Banky Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Steiner is so bad that the crowd made a 180 turn against him because he sucked so badly. That rarely if ever happens. As for Buchanan, there's just something about the guy that I find entertaining. And I don't care what Scott Keith says, his top rope spot rocks. Yea, Scott Keith came to my house, pointed a gun to my head and forced me to hate Bull. And, Triple H was over as a face in the match before it started. Steiner screwing up only intensified it. Plus, Triple H was more of the lug in the match than Steiner. But nope, blind htred must prevail. Also, Steiner hadn't wrestled in a long while, of course it would take him a while to get back going. Plus, he is getting used to working with his drop foot syndrom, which as my dad says (who is a doctor and had a father with the same problem) should send a wrestler into retirement. Its amazing Steiner isn't limping with his problem. So I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, let his work a few matches to get used to his specialty boot, and THEN give my opinion. Buchanon will never ever be at Steiner's level in the past, or even now.
Guest Banky Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I can find redeeming qualities in Buchanan's ring work. I'd be pressed to find anything in Steiner's. Enlighten me? Tell me what Bull does that makes him THAT much better than anyone else. And Brian, give Steiner a bit of a chance before writing him off. His match at the Rumble wasn't good, but a better opponant may help him out. Past shows that Steiner can still be entertaining with his extreme muscle mass.

Guest Brian Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Bull's a decent bumper, moreso than Steiner, a decent highflier, and has an offense that isn't insultingly repetitive. He's far more mobile in the ring than Steiner and has far less health risks, the latter which shouldn't really be a factor but should be considered.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 And, Triple H was over as a face in the match before it started. Steiner screwing up only intensified it. Plus, Triple H was more of the lug in the match than Steiner. But nope, blind htred must prevail. Why is it Blind hatred if you think Steiner's worse right know than Buchan. I don't think anyone's saying Buchanan is Chris Benoit or even anything but mediocre for a hoss, just Steiner hasn't shown he has anything left in the tank.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 My ranking is not on pure wrestling ability but how much I enjoy watching the person perform. 1. Buchanon will never ever be at Steiner's level in the past, or even now. Then Stiener should retire. I mean really, if he can't hack it in the ring, and I saw nothing in the rumble match that would lead me to believe otherwise, then he shouldn't be stealing someone's spot. I really don't have much of a problem with Bull other than the fact that I'm apathetic to any character he can develope. He impressed me with having pretty good agility for his size. Also, how can you say HHH was a face? The whole point of the atch becae HHH trying to avoid losing the title by resorting to heal tactics. Also HHH ade that atch a quarter watchable by buping all over the place for Stiener.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I'd be hard pressed to call 3/4's of this list "superstars". Also, it's pretty difficult to rank people who've only been with the company for like a few weeks(Little Guido/Nunizo) as compared to jobbers who get on TV all the time(Steven Richards).
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I don't really watch RAW so I will only do the Smackdown guys, but based on the Royal Rumble, I consider Scott Steiner the worst worker in the company. Rock would be number 4 if he was actually around. 1. Chris Benoit. He gets a standing ovation for losing the match. First time I've seen that since Foley's retirement. Best pure North American wrestler since Ricky Steamboat. 2. Eddy Guerrero. He talks better than Benoit, and wrestles better than Angle. However, he isn't quite the wrestler Benoit is, and has a larger tendency to be spotty. 3. Kurt Angle. He's a great wrestler, and the best in the company on the mic. Not as good as the top two. 4. Chavo Guerrero. He's close to Eddy in ability, but he doesn't have the ring presence. 5. Jamie Noble. The most underrated performer in the company. 6. Rey Misterio. He is very injury prone, but is a great performer when he actually gets in the ring. 1997 Rey would be number 3 easily, but he isn't what he used to be. 7. Edge. He has some selling problems, but was in several of the best matches from last year so he can't be that bad. 8. Tajiri. Underrated, but his work schedule in the last year has caused problems. Still can have a good match with anybody above the Hoss level. 9. Brock Lesnar. Underrated as a worker because he looks like a Hoss. Has clearly stepped it up lately. He's taken horrible wrestlers to matches that are at the least watchable. 10. Matt Hardy, Version 1.0. Overrated as a worker, but he knows enough about the business to have good matches regardless. His gimmick is the best on Smackdown. 11. Shelton Benjamin. He and Haas are pretty interchangeable. 12. Charlie Haas. Needs practice, but great potential. 13. Nunzio. Above average. 14. Spanky. Has a lot to learn about psychology, but he's fun to watch. 15. Funaki. I'm still not sure why they don't give this guy at least a minor push ala Horowitz in 1995. 16. John Cena. Good potential, but not as good as the guys above him as of yet. Average, but rising quickly. 17. Undertaker. You aren't around as long as him without learning something. As long as he isn't in the ring with a lug, he knows enough to do alright. Injuries have taken their toll though. 18. Billy Kidman. Extremely boring, but nothing too wrong with his wrestling. 19. Bill DeMott. He's entertaining enough for a big guy, and a better wrestler than most give him credit for. 20. Big Show. We're getting into the dregs now. He has some nice power moves, but couldn't put together a match to save his life. 21. A-Train. Big Show Jr. 22. Crash Holly. He used to be good, but he does nothing for me now. 23. Shannon Moore. I like him as Matt's punching bag, but he is atrocious in the ring. This is the highest he will ever be in the card. 24. Rikishi. He has fallen faster and harder than anybody in the last two years. He needs to start putting people over, since he still has heat. 25. Chuck Palumbo. I used to like him, but he needs to be gay again. 26. Red Dogg. B2 he's not. 27. Hardcore Holly. He's been injured so long I can barely even remember him. I have a feeling Nathan Jones will be near the bottom of this list.
Guest Brian Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 '97 Rey can't hold a candle to this one, as an all-around, smart worker.
