Guest mach7 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 We all saw a few weeks ago the "news piece" about Luger thinking Vince will want him because of his size these days.. but I just came across this portion of an interview with Sting.. He talked about Lex Luger being frustrated overseas with the WWA tour. Lex was sick with bronchitus and was battling a hip injury. He only had 3 weeks to get ready for the tour and Lex was 300 pounds when the tour started. With the injuries, Lex still worked and finished the tour. 300 pounds?! Is this muscle or fat? Does anyone have a pic of this? Jesus, I can only imagine how slow he must be.. can you picture Steiner vs Luger in WWE? Christ, it'd be like watching a match on 'pause'....

Although I don't really have any desire to see Lex Lugar again, I do miss the Torture Rack submission finish. It just seems like the psychology should be so easy to set it up. I mean, working the back is easier than working a limp. Almost every move people in the WWE main event scene use works the back. Spinebuster. Superplex. Etc. Maybe someone knew could start using the Rack?

Guest AndrewTS Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 Luger was so horrible in his return to WCW I realized he sucked even before I was a smark. Gets his ass kicked most of the match, hardly any offense at all. Then, makes the big babyface comeback, inverted atomic drops a couple times, flying forearms, pose, Torture Rack, bye-bye. I know he was good in his first WCW stint, but he got horribly lazy, and I can't see a more hoss-ish Luger being any better. He could have been a good "borderline" guy for his size, since guys like the Rock can still be very mobile and entertaining in the ring at the size Luger was previously. Although, if Vince brings him in, then we have another sign that Vince is desperate and an idiot.

Speaking of Steiner...how could a man so good become so bad? I mean did he just forget how to string together a good match? Even if you're as slow as him you should still have it in your head what makes a good match.

As for Steiner--steroids, injuries, and so forth. Although I'd think even that wouldn't make you incapable of doing the most basic of things without screwing up horribly.
