Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 In previous years, WWE would allow wrestlers to put in a request for as many tickets as they needed for friends and family to attend a WWE event in a wrestlers hometown. Recently, WWE began to crack down on ticket comps. A notable example was recently in San Francisco, where Rikishi requested a large about of complimentary tickets for his extended family. San Francisco is known for the large Samoan contingent there to support whichever wrestler was currently active for WWE. However, this time, WWE officials did not allow Rikishi to get as many tickets as he needed, and there was a notion in the lockerroom about how management was unfairly taking out the downturn of business on the boys. Guest Repo Man jr Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Its understandable really. I mean, each member of Rikishi's family takes up 3 chairs!
Guest JHawk Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 LOL Yeah, but when arenas stop roping off the top level for TV and you still can't sell out, you almost need to let the wrestlers bring people in. Granted, if Rikishi got all the tickets he needed with that family, there wouldn't be a public ticket sale.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Vince's own fault for not putting a lid on this sooner.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Granted, if Rikishi got all the tickets he needed with that family, there wouldn't be a public ticket sale. As long as they still charge his family for food, they'll still make a lot of money.
Guest Choken One Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Well...Rikishi shouldn't brought his entire family...hell half of them work for WWE... Just limite Comp tix to About 6 per wrestler...
