Guest BoboBrazil Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Raw drew a 3.9 rating on Monday night. Don't have breakdown, but would strongly presume hour two was well ahead of hour one. Don't have a final number for Joe Millionaire, but on the overnights against the first hour of Raw, it did a 25.1 rating (22.1 overall for the special). wrestlingobserver.com
Guest Angle-plex Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I can't wait to see next week's ratings, since it will be Austin's first RAW in months.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Well my goodness, I told you all that show would draw ratings. I'm telling you, the casual fans DO give a shit about JR, for some reason. People WANT to see Austin beat the fuck out of Bishoff now, they WANT payback for what happened to JR. The main event thing on RAW was nothing new, things like that have happened before PPV's many time in the past. I still don't see what was so bad about it, as it did it's job perfectly.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I can't wait to see next week's ratings, since it will be Austin's first RAW in months. I'm going to go ahead and call 4+ for next week. When was the last time RAW did that anyhow?
Guest Caliban Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 You know, they've been subtely hinting at a JR/Bischoff feud for weeks now. Well, not so subtle when Bisch puts JR in matches against Regal/Storm and now himself. Though it would probably never happen, I think a good angle would be for JR to oust Bisch as GM, and have a new commentator on RAW (not Coach).
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 A few weeks ago, when they teased all night Austin would show up. It got a 4.1
Guest BoboBrazil Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Raw did a 4.1 a few weeks ago I think.
Guest Caliban Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I'm going to go ahead and call 4+ for next week. When was the last time RAW did that anyhow? They did a 4.1 three weeks back.
Guest razazteca Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I don't know about you but I can't wait for the JR & SCSA vs Bischoff & Cheif Val Venis Main Event for the Raw after the PPV.........thats 5+ rating there folks.
Guest Mole Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Well my goodness, I told you all that show would draw ratings. Yes, they defiently do. When I was at Raw in January, I saw a sign that said "King and JR: Tag Champs"
Guest pappajacks Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Jim Ross is the most over face on RAW, arguably ahead of Booker T, Steiner, Kane, RVD, Goldust and the Dudleyz. I was speaking with some marks the other day, and they can't get enough of good ol' JR. They want him as GM of RAW. Go figure.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 A few weeks ago, when they teased all night Austin would show up. It got a 4.1 How can some morons say that Austin coming back is BAD for business? Like that guy who wrote some column that was posted here, are they mental? Once he returns, they MUST put him into a great storyline (the Bishoff thing will lead to something more), because in the end it's about the writing.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I think JR as GM would be funny as hell, but I do NOT think it is what should happen. Of course, JR is over like hell, so maybe they WILL put him in a larger posistion than just at the booth. I thought it was obvious that JR IS loved by the casual fans, that is why I said all that I said on Monday night after RAW, after which almost everyone just blasted me. I'm glad I'm not the only one that realizes it.
Guest wwF1587 Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 it HAD to be anticipation of possibly seeing austin at the main event... i mean JR cant possibly draw big in MEs.... fudge.. JR does equal ratings... I hate the WWE.
Guest razazteca Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 whats next are they going to start teasing Goldberg as Bischoff's body guard?
Guest Caliban Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 JR as GM could be almost as fun as Foley's stint as Commish.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 whats next are they going to start teasing Goldberg as Bischoff's body guard? That just reminded me how WCW teased that Hogan was bringing in The Ultimate Warrir as "the ultimate suprise", and it ened up being The Renegade, a blatant rip off, lol.
Guest Breetai Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I hope Austin no-shows the PPV. I really do.
Guest razazteca Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I hope Austin no-shows the PPV. I really do. me too
Guest Caliban Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I hope Austin no-shows the PPV. I really do. I thought we were all in universal agreement that we want Raw to improve...
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Yes, why the hell would you WANT Austin to no-show? That makes no sense, at all.
Guest Breetai Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I'm just thinking that the subsequent 2.0 rating for RAW would give me conniptions of laughter. Of course the WWE still wouldn't get the point that bait-and-switch does not = ratings, but who knows, it may lead to the smartification of some marks.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Oh ok, so you don't want RAW to improve, got it.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 It'll take a lot more than Austin stunnering everyone while good ol' JR orgasms in his seat for RAW to improve in my eyes.
Guest Breetai Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Oh ok, so you don't want RAW to improve, got it. No, I want the writers/McMahons to get a big ole slap in the face and realise that SHORT TERM SOLUTIONS AND NOSTALGIA are not the answers.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Oh ok, so you don't want RAW to improve, got it. No, I want the writers/McMahons to get a big ole slap in the face and realise that SHORT TERM SOLUTIONS AND NOSTALGIA are not the answers. So you think that Austin returning is a bad thing? Help me out here, because I can't understand how his no-showing No Way Out will in any way do anything good for WWE, RAW, and Pro. Wrestling as a whole. It would be one HELL of a blow to WWE at this point in time.
Guest Breetai Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 It would be one HELL of a blow to WWE at this point in time. Exacltly, hence the slap in the face. Read my post more carefully.
Guest Brian Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 That's more than a slap in the face. That's a straight low blow and a shot to the gut. That's far too close to a knockout punch. You're basically saying to your fans "Fuck you for ordering this". People will tune out fast, and it'll be very, very hard to recover.
Guest Downhome Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 It would be one HELL of a blow to WWE at this point in time. Exacltly, hence the slap in the face. Read my post more carefully. I read it, and don't agree. The last thing they need right now is a hell of a blow, or a slap in the face with simple hope that it will change something. What they NEED is for Austin to return, be the best that he can be right now, and move forward.
