Guest Angle-plex Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I just read somewhere that Taker beat Show with a TRIANGLE CHOKE?! Please tell me that's not right, and that he beat him with a chokeslam or something. Angle is a fucking olympic gold medalist and he can only beat people with beltshots, chairshots, ect., while Undertaker can beat a 7'5'' guy with a TRIANGLE CHOKE?! WTF?!
Guest Angle-plex Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Well was it a least a decent looking Triangle Choke?
Guest Angle-plex Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Oh, and if Undertaker ever beats Angle, Lesnar, or even Shamrock with a triangle choke or any variation of one, I stop watching any WWE programing that involves him in any way.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Who cares? I was just glad the match was over with.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 It looked like a triangle choke, but anyone that knows what a triangle choke is supposed to look like knew that Undertaker didn't have it cinched in properly. It was pretty sad because the move had no build and I doubt most of the crowd even knew what the heck Undertaker was doing. Using it as a match ender killed the crowd heat dead.
Guest Brian Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 At least Ace has continued (assuming he's still head agent) trying to put over submission holds.
Guest Trivia247 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Oh WHAAA WHAAAA WHAAA its sooooo Horrible...Taker used a Triangle Choke MY GOD How DARE he attempt a Wrestling Move... Da BASTARD... jeez you just find any excuse to get down on the guy. Unless you are SOOO Upset he just Buried the Big Show???? Like Big Show was any Benoit, or Angle or whomever else you bleed for if ever they face the Undertaker and by some ACT of GOD loses in the script.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 The triangle choke is nothing in the WWE though. Hardly any fans watching knew what in the world it was and they ended up confused when the bell rang. It was some nice psych by Taker (I can't chokeslam you, I can't Last Ride you, so I better make you submit) but sadly the triangle choke isn't over in a WWE ring. That said, I'm all for re-establishing submissions as an acceptable means of ending a match.

Taker Powerbombed Show Via the Use of the Turnbuckles with Show tryin that 10 punch Spot and got Last Ridden down. then in another match Taker made Show tap too his version of the Dragon Sleeper, which he did try in this last match.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Bleh! Why do they keep the Big Show on? They push the hell out of him, only to job him out in a boring feud. Then they start the cycle all over again. They keep pushing him as this monster no one can beat, then have someone beat him, then a couple months later do the same thing...I guess it works if the fans memories only go back a couple weeks...which is what Vince banks on quite often. Don't get me wrong, I am not defending Show, but dammit he's been the most misused guy in the company. And cause of that he'll never get over seriously again. It's also time for face/heel turn #200...that's what they do when they don't know what else to do for the guy.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Well.....I really had no problem with the finish. Anything that ends with the Big Show in defeat is good. However it did annoy me when Taker put on the Dragon Sleeper and Tazz is like "Dragon sleep....""OH MY GOD TAZZ! THE TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS!"

However it did annoy me when Taker put on the Dragon Sleeper and Tazz is like "Dragon sleep....""OH MY GOD TAZZ! THE TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS!" sometimes they just don't have to rename and trademark everymove under the sun I would have been happy with Tazz saying Dragon Sleeper without Cole pushing that new name...its not like Taker used the move frequently...that was his Heel finisher for the few months he was a heel bleh.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I quite liked the finish, Big Show looked pretty choked out. It is very true that the crowd couldn't really tell what the hell it was, but I don't think they cared. I am pleased that the didn't have Taker win with a 3 inch chokeslam. I think he should have locked on a few more submissions, but Show would keep getting out. He got one. These matches don't tell GOOD stories anymore. Taker couldn't do his moves, so he choked him out, but Show never looked threatening, he was just too fat to pick up. Show was jobbing, we all knew., It would have been nice for him to power out of a lot more submissions or moves until Taker had to counter something Show did and psych him out instead of just slapping on his own moves,he'd have to catch him by surprise. The match wasn't half bad, IMO, but it could have been pretty good.
Guest Angle-plex Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Oh WHAAA WHAAAA WHAAA its sooooo Horrible...Taker used a Triangle Choke MY GOD How DARE he attempt a Wrestling Move... Like Big Show was any Benoit, or Angle or whomever else you bleed for if ever they face the Undertaker and by some ACT of GOD loses in the script. You're an idiot. I just said I think it's dumb that Undertaker can beat people with MMA/Wrestling moves while, you know, a REAL wrestler like Angle has to use belt shots and chair shots. Hell, even Brock hasn't beat anybody with a wrestling move. Taker is an untrained wrestler who should be doing fucking triangle chokes.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Taker's shitty submissions mean nothing. They don't fit his charachter at all. The American Badass! Big Evil! Whats so evil about a badly applied triangle choke?
Guest iamsherm Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Taker's shitty submissions mean nothing. They don't fit his charachter at all. The American Badass! Big Evil! Whats so evil about a badly applied triangle choke? I agree. Taker should stick to the chokeslams and the tombstones and definitely that OLD SCHOOL rope walk. Dragon sleepers and triangle chokes don't make any sense and, when used as a finisher, are anti-climatic. Otherwise, I thought the match was tolerable, if not a little long.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Well I remember when he wrestled Ken Shamrock and he was all busting out constant submissions.......of course that match was one of the most boring ones I've ever seen. Hell it's hard to picture Taker busting out the submissions but he seems to do it every now and then. Remember when he was busting out the cross armbreakers in 2001? I guess he thinks it makes him a good wrestler if he can throw in a random submission here and there. They should've mentioned that he learned the Triangle Submission from Kurt Angle b/c Kurt made him TAP~! to it.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 If Show wasn't so goddamn big that Undertaker could actually put his legs near Show's throat, then I would have had no problem. As it was, the first thing I said when the ref rang the bell was "Show passed out from an arm-breaker?" The Dragon Sleeper would have been much better, but I guess Show couldn't keep his body in that position for too long or something.
Guest The Hamburglar Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Assuming there must be a Crap Match Quota to be fulfilled every week, I would gladly have that Quota be fulfilled by Show-Taker. Funniest match in ages. Show's "choking" expressions and Taker's mad old man grimaces are comedic gold. And Show is fat and shit, but in a funny way, unlike Three Minute Warning, who are just really fat and really shit.
Guest Redhawk Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Okay, I plead ignorance: Can someone explain what exactly a triangle choke is, how it's applied, what it does, etc.? The only time I recall seeing someone do it was when Kurt Angle and Undertaker fought to a draw on the Fourth of July. Angle was on his back with his legs around Taker's neck and also had his arm, I think.
Guest JMTapes Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 "I just read somewhere that Taker beat Show with a TRIANGLE CHOKE?!
