Remember "Rock thinks he is too good to for the roster" from the Torch? Yeah well he came back on RAW and he not only put over Hurricane but Booker T as well. That's more than HHH, Taker, and Austin have done in a while. That just goes to show how you shouldn't take everything said in the torch as fact.

I don't think anyone ever did.

Oh, that's right then those people who made posts and complained about:

"Triple H is the reason for famine in Africa" "Triple H hates Tough Enough "Triple H told Nowinski to use two ply" were just playing along?

Posted

I think the point was made because Rock was negotiating specific dates and opponents when he wasn't in that position. And to that point, they were right.

Err? I thought the Torch was the site which was a Clique love-in. Which one is it?

They are. You should have seen the jabs they took at Jericho in the PPV review.

Oh pffft. You mean everyone hates Torch just because they're the site Jericho named for his reason to leave the Internet?

That could have happened with any site.

You mean No Way Out? If so, what did they say?

I thought he was talking about how Jericho bitched out the entire internet after what the Torch said about KOR.

Torch has been taking shots at Jericho since he came to the WWE.

I don't have the report (e-mail) anymore. I'll wait until I get the next newsletter later and post, but someone else probably has it. Just his regular subtle jabs about how the lionsault is a weak finisher and Jericho always manages to make it sloppy.

Jericho was right about people who post for, and lots of people who read, the Torch being assholes. Let's call them Flamers for short.

However, he was an idiot to think the whole net that way. His match with RVD was no classic, though, but it wasn't bad.

The Torch is pretty shitty, I don't put any faith in them.

I never had anything against the Rock, from all the so-called big name main eventers, he is the only one willing to put anyone in the roster over if it's right for the business, his babyface character was stale but he still was more entertaining than the "man of 1000 injuries" Trips.

Has any main eventer in history ever done as many jobs as The Rock, and still been over like a mofo ?

Foley lost almost constantly to Austin, Rock, HHH.

I don't even go to the Torch anymore, I just go to 1wrestling. Dave is usually accurate with his reports, so I trust them and WO the most.

Actually, Foley's one of the few people to have a winning record against Austin(2-1) and even pinned him clean for the title at SummerSlam 99.

2-1? Wasn't one of those wins the DQ victory from Unforgiven '98? If you're counting it (assuming it was their first match, because I barely watched pre-Badd Blood '97)...

So, clean falls, Foley/Austin are tied 1-1 (Over The Edge '98, SummerSlam '99).

Rock was ON last night. I thought that his intro video was a bit too long, and the music needs to be louder, but those are my only REAL complaints.

You're both forgeting Mankind vs Austin on RAW in November of '96~!

Rcok did make the show good last night. I kept falling asleep or changing channels when he wasn't on though.

Austin didn't use to be good about putting over younger workers, but I think he puts over people who deserve to be main eventers. I still don't understand the undefeated record versus Rock, however I do understand that when he has faced him, there hasn't been any reason for Rock to win. Look at how Austin has put over Jericho and Angle, both deservedly main eventers.

ahhh, welcome back rattlesnake. Maybe we'll start having watchable main events again..

I think this could be a perfect example of why we should take everything we read on the internet with a grain of salt. I'm not saying we should be wary because the sources are unreliable, but I'm simply saying that I think a good portion of these "rumors" you read on 1wrestling, Torch, Wrestling Observer, etc. are concocted by the WWE. They could be "working" the internet crowd to put help over a certain wrestler as a face or heel (this is where I would classify a lot of the Triple H nonsense, although I'm pretty sure there is a certain degree of truth to his backstage antics) or they could be feeding the internet these rumors simply for their own personal amusement (haircuts, tans, "hazing," etc.).

Basically what I'm trying to say is I'm guessing someone from the WWE fed the Torch that line regarding Rock's huge ego simply to help push his impending heel turn.

I'm not sure if that whole spiel made any sense. Did it?

Just for the record, I'd like to say that Rock's new entrance kicks all kinds of ass.

The slow burn on the Titantron and new slowed down music both scream "EVIL!"

And, he put over the Hurricane, so he can now rape cattle and I wouldn't care.

It's just a case of booking in a hole and bad timing with Austin/Rock. He basically had to win at WrestleMania 15, and the BackLash match was just the nail in the early part of the feud and allowed Rock to start in his roll of not being part of the Corporation. WrestleMania 17 was for the Austin heel turn.

When Rock was supposed to go over at Survivor Series 2001, he went over.

The WWE stooges guys out all the time. It's no big deal. But if you look at what Rock was talking about working when he got back (trading wins with Goldberg), it doesn't look that good. But he's always willing to play ball with the lesser guys in the end.

But the somewhat irritating thing about Survivor Series 01 was that face Rock wasn't even allowed to beat heel Austin clean. Austin had Rock beat before Angle did the nonsensical run-in of Doom. I've once again realised Austin's greatness, but let's not start thinking he goes around putting people over in any great way. He still never put Jericho over in my eyes, and he's probably going to get to beat Rock again.

Ah, but the Rock could still think he's too good for the roster and just be going along with what they ask because he's a team player. Does that make sense? I'm asking you.

Everyone seems to put faith in them whenever an an anti-HHH story surfaces. Not to say there may not true, but too often people don't take a discerning to these claims because of whatever they hold against HHH.

And he went off the negativity of the Internet in general, I believe. That was just what broke the camel's back. And you can't deny the Internet is pretty harsh on almost everything about the WWE, sometimes fairly, sometimes not.
