Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 4, 2003 Report Posted March 4, 2003 Ok...they have the chick divison on Raw with 5 workers: Trish, Molly, Jazz, Jackie, and Victoria. Can't count Stacy cause she's doing the manager deal, or the Smackdown girls. For the last few weeks they've managed to get the belt and just about all of the featured players on tv. They're given a lot of time considering that Trish is the ONLY one that's at all over. Now who's cruiser material on Smackdown? Matt, Shannon, Tajiri, Funaki, Noble, Nunzio, Kidman, Chavo, Mysterio, Brain Kendrick, and Crash...that's 11 damn names and they still don't work any cruiser angles. What's wrong with this picture? If any of the other girls could get over to save their lives I wouldn't mind this so much.

The cruiserweight title seems to just go back and forth between Kidman and someone different. Hopefully Matt Hardy can make the cruiserweight as a division interesting again. When the cruisers get TV matches, they're usually good. It's just as a whole that the division is buried and doesn't come across as being important to the fans.

Second, Moore looks like a girl. The 'mango' gimmick wouldn't be so much the character at it is the concept - Russo had it the other way around. He gave the character and forgot about guys being infatuated with Kwee Wee.

Guess what the fans chant during every match, we want puppies. Why is WWE hell bent on forcing womens wrestling down the throats of fans who don't give a shit. Don't tell me they are conditioned to chant that either, unless guys are conditioned to go to strip clubs. T&A is the one thing you can hotshot, because guys will never get tired of it and yet they don't do it effectively. No one gives a shit about seeing girls in granny panties, like dawn and torrie in their last match, and no one cares about seeing girls in stupid santa outfits. What I would do is just have the girls wrestle in thongs in crisco, or some clear liquid every monday in a tournament. I am sure many girls would quit but who gives a shit your job is to get ratings not appease girls or be politically correct.

However, the point of the Santa outfits escape me. If they were red bikinis with Santa hats I could understand. Besides, the women wrestlers on Raw are better than most of the men.

The funny thing is, the WWE lets the women get away with 'wrestling more' than the cruiserweights... If they cut the strings on the cruisers and let them go all out they would be 100X as over as the women.

Well, call it what you want, but what you describe sounds like what Hurricane is doing on Raw. I don't see anything of the sort with SD cruisers.

Remember that Trish gets a Brock-ish god-dess push in comparison to all the other ladies, so it isn't such a surprise she's so over. Plus they usually only push ONE women's angle at any given time.

Vince can apply all of his theories on this show. Big Men and TnA = ratings. Smackdown -> the wrestling show. Vince can put all the stuff he thinks the fans don't want, cruiserweights and wrestlers, and see if the opposite end of the spectrum works. What does he do? Smackdown is a hoss and tna show with a lil wrestling. Raw is the 'entertainment show' with bad wrestling and tna. Has anything changed? Nope. Will anything change? Nope. The fact that they have basically put on the same show for 6 years really bothers me right now. Have they changed a single thing in their production? Have they come up with anything new?
