Guest NoCalMike Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Maybe because they didn't want either guy having to job in that high profile of a match going into WM, but then Rock went on to job to Hurricane anyway. Why couldn't they run the same spot with Booker T instead. It seemed kind of odd that the Rock/Booker T match was a selling point going into tonight(it was even listed in my local tv guide as a match) and then Rock just decides he isn't going to(according to storyline, of course). What happened, why was it scrapped, or do you think it was never gonna happen the whole time?
Guest LJSexay Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Proably to keep both of them strong going into Mania. I dunno.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 My knee jerk reaction would be that they had to keep Rock away from any angle invovling HHH or we might figure out that HHH's heat doesn't even register as heel heat when next to Rock. It's strange to bait and switch people when so few people are taking the bait anymore.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 My guess would be that they were looking at the reactions and segment ratings for Rock/Hurricane and figured that they pull in a pretty decent ME by paying off that storyline, rather than convoluting the Booker T/HHH feud with the stipulations behind the Rock/Booker match.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Meh. It was a Raw segment that didn't have both Rock & Hurricane in it. Thus it didn't make any sense to do at all. I really do believe that the only thing going on Raw that currently makes any sense is the Rock/Hurricane mini-feud. Other than that, everything is convoluted. As to why they didn't pull off Booker T vs Rock, I think that the Raw dudes just wanted to pull another swerve on us. It backfired, and totally didn't do anything to make us like the swerve (cause it was a crappy idea [not giving us Booker T vs Rock]), but meh. It still had a certain payoff with the Hurricane/Rock mini-feud being built up even more.
Guest Downhome Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I don't see the "payoff" in the Rocky/Hurricane storyline if Helms just goes back to what he was before. It's been great these past few weeks (even though the match just sucked, and the ending was fucked up), but if they don't do more with him after this, then what is the point of it? I hate to tell Helms, but he isn't the type of guy where his heat will remain from this by just being himself.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I see HHH squashing Hurricane in 30 seconds next week to 'show up' Rocky.
