Guest Dillon Likes Bossman Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Man, I'm a Booker T fan but before Flair came out tonite, was Booker lost or what? I mean when we was trying to "share something with us" I damn near fell asleep. Even with this said I'm pulling for him to go over HHH at Mania, I'm just saying maybe he was having an off night.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 It's probably just that no one wants to hear about his personal life, which we already knew anyway.
Guest converge241 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 that crowd was a sad sight too bad they used the "i led a life of crime/did hard time/wild youth" on Rikishi but then again no one cared when he did it either they just wanted him to dance
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 He is sooooo not going to win at Mania.
Guest Brian Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 If Booker loses at Mania, I will jump the rail when Tripel H leaves the ring.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Where's Smarkzone when you need him? :-) I thought the promo was alright but the stuff Flair and HHH did was disgusting
Guest converge241 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 yes! finally Vince has a reason for some fans to order WMXIX Brian - HHH i actually like your odds of winning because you wont be pre-buried before your encounter
Guest TheGame2705 Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Hell yeah the interview was boring as fuck. The fans only popped when he kicked ass. That's all fans want is kicking ass.
Guest justsoyouknow Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 That's the thing that I've noticed about Booker. Everyone always puts over how great he is on the mic and how entertaining he is, but I've found most of his promos to be incredibly boring. Even the live audience doesn't give a shit until he says "SUCKAAAAAAAAAA!". The fact of the matter is that I personally cannot get into this fued due to Booker's poor mic work. It's a damn shame, because I really want him to get over, but the way this storyline is being written and the material he's being given to work with is just preventing that from happening.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Well the crowds were terrible all night so it wasn't just Booker T. Booker T will win at WM... It's time for HHH to show the boys in the back that the playing field is even and that he's not above losing to someone not related to the kliq. Then at Backlash HHH will totally bury Booker.
Guest creativename Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 I disagree that there's a problem with Booker's non-catchphrase mic work. It's just that the material he was given was terrible. He just rambled on nonsensically from one point to the next--one second he's talking about how he's the youngest child, the next about going to prison...the promo just didn't make any sense at all. I've seen Booker cut sensible non-catchphrase promos before, so I'm inclined to believe this wasn't his fault.
Guest Johnson1620 Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Booker has no business on the mic, unless he is saying Suckkka or something. He talks like he has about a 5th grade education anyway. Anymore then a few seconds and he is horrible.
Guest RepoMan Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Personally, I think Booker is great on the mic. I was at Raw, and its hard for me to cheer a guy going on about how he went to prison. He needs to be able to rip into HHH verbally to get over, but we all know why that's not happening. It's the perfect time to bring back the "Don't hate the player, hate the game" catch pharse, yet it's no where to be found.
Guest JMA Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 I would totally mark out for Booker saying, "Don't hate the player... HATE... THE... GAME. Now can you dig that?! SUCKAAAAAAAAAA!"
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 I like Booker's method of speaking. It's refreshing to hear them talk as if they aren't scripted, which I doubt he was, since I doubt the writers wrote Booker's very realistic way of talking. WWE has yet to really let people speak how they normally would in real life, if you understand what I'm trying to say here. As it was, I was very engrossed and interested in what Booker had to say.
Guest Dangerous A Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 I like Book's serious promo, unfortunately the audience has been conditioned to not care or like serious promo's and only pop for stupid ass backstage shit like Hurricane/Rock type segments. And personally I hate when he says the catchphrase "Don't hate the player, hate the game". It's stupid if you really think about it.
Guest Steviekick Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Booker's promo wasn't that bad. it just went on too long, and it wasn't what anyone was expecting.
