Guest jester Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Ok, what do we all think of the belt situation going into Wrestlemania? I, like many people, did not like the circumstances under which the Raw belt was introduced and I still have problems as seeing it being worth anything. Especially if you compare to the real title, at the moment around Angle's waist. The problem is, with that bastard title hanging around, I feel like the real gold belt has lost some of its lustre too. This is the first Wrestlemania where the two brand titles go up for grabs, and I feel the split weakens their value. Making the situation worse is the fact that they have to get the title off Angle quick in order to have a full match at WM. Whatever solution they come up with, it's going to be a hasty one that won't be entirely satisfactory. That's not strictly their fault, the injury just screwed up their plans in a stroke of bad luck. I don't agree with the theory that the belts are "just props." They are the gauge of who the stars are and who the stars are going to be. If the belts have no value, neither do the wrestlers holding them. And I really think the lack of a number one belt, saying "This guy is better than anyone" else, is really hurting the company.
Guest Trivia247 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I got nothing really to add to this but... I LOVE that job you did on the Hosses gone wild hehehee
Guest EternallyLazy Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I have a different view of title belts. I dissagree with the entire argument over the "legitimacy" of the World Heavyweight title. And I kind of find it humerous that people would argue this over a non-sport. Sure, HHH didn't "win" the title from anyone, but he's defended it enough AND it's been unified with the IC title, which has enough title lineage itself to justify the world heavyweight title as a "real" title.
Guest Brian Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Unless they stop treating titles like jokes and props, it doesn't change a thing. The split doesn't weaken their value, bad and sometimes impromptu booking does. You book them like champions over something meaningful with challengers that care about the titles and really want to win them, cherish them, be apart of the history and you're going to reap what you sow. Benoit vs. Angle was all about the belt and Benoit achieving a goal while Angle proved himself; Angle vs. Brock has been about Heyman/Brock. Need we talk about the RAW title?
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Where can I buy that Hosses Gone Wild DVD? Does it show any explicit scenes of Albert shaving his Back?
Guest Creepy Crawl Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Is it just me or did Cripple H's belt look to be a new updated version or what last night ? It looked a little bigger and like it had some more stuff added to it .

Guest Creepy Crawl Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Thats what I thought ...... now its the big gold SHINY belt .
Guest EternallyLazy Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Anyone know what happened to the ORIGINAL Big Gold Belt? The one last worn by Jeff Jarret in WCW... The top of the belt was bent slightly. WCW replaced it with the version that HHH wore up until last week
Guest The Pred Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I believe that Hogan has the belt at his home.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I believe that Hogan has the belt at his home. That sucks... I always thought that Flair probably ended up keeping it
