Guest The Tino Standard Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 So, if I recall correctly, the tag team match from hell that wrecked Batista, Orton and, to a lesser degree, Bubba Dudley, came as the result of William Regal being unable to wrestle with Storm against the Duds at a Reading, PA house show. I think Regal showed up on Raw the week before in street clothes during a Storm singles match. I haven't seen him on TV since to the best of my memory. What exactly is his injury, when did it happen, and when is he supposed to be coming back?
Guest bob_barron Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 (edited) He suffered a concussion at No Way Out thanks to a Kane bodyslam. Since then he's been experience stomach pains and well he doesn't want to pull a Sid. Regal is also a life long insomniac and it's only gotten worse recently. He recently saw someone and got tests on it. I think he's been kept off tv since it's not essential he be on TV at the moment. He'll probably be on RAW this coming Monday or the Monday after that to build to the match v. the Dudleyz Edited March 13, 2003 by bob_barron
Guest Steviekick Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Regal needs to get well and back on TV asap. The whole tag team title on Raw is severley lackinh in his absence.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 The whole tag team title on Raw is severley lackinh in his absence. The whole tag division on Raw is severly lacking with or without Regal. It's just an all together terrible division.
Guest Steviekick Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 I agree with yoiu, but it is even more lacking when half of the tag team champions haven't been on TV in a month~!
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I think they should scrap one of the tag team straps and bring back the IC title. There just isn't enough decent teams to have 2 separate divisions.

There just isn't enough decent teams to have 2 separate divisions. That's seems like a good idea, especially since Smackdown has a whole bunch of established tag teams on it. The only real tag teams on Raw or Regal/Storm and the Dudleys, both of which are realy stale. The return of the IC title could definitely work out on Raw. They should have the Raw and Smackdown titles unified before they do such a thing. If they were to do this, they should have them unified at Summerslam, which I think is the next dual roster PPV.
Guest Brian Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 No, becfause mid-card belts aren't needed and tag team division are very, very easy to book and work wonders for people without feuds or stagnant singles pushes. Tag Team divisions are vital, have drawn in the past, are very easy to book, and just in general give a reason to have tag matches.

If tag divisions are so easy to push, the utter failure of the one on RAW means that the writers are more incompetent than we thought.

Guest bob_barron Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 There was a wwe.com article about him that revealed a lot of information. I'm the #1 Regal fan- I'm supposed to know this stuff

Guest Polish_Rifle Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 he should go back and be the commissioner because that was the last time I remember seeing him and not have the urge to change the channel.
Guest treble charged Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): He sucks.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): He sucks. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): No he doesn't.
Guest Coffey Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I wish Regal would retire. He shouldn't never returned to the ring after his commish run. At least in my opinion. I know a couple people still mark for him on these forums, but he's not able to go anymore. He can't even bump correctly. When you're bent over to take a Booker T. ax kick, you don't get kick in the back of your head then land on your back. Lance Storm & Val Venis would make better tag champs in my opinion. I think Val deserves a push. An in ring push that is. He has talent, and I have always thought so.
Guest jester Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 he should go back and be the commissioner because that was the last time I remember seeing him and not have the urge to change the channel. That would mean we have THREE management figures on Raw--Bischoff, Morley, and Regal. They'd have to shift Morley to being a full-time wrestler again. Two managers/commissioners/chiefs/grand poobahs/whatever the fuck is already two much.
Guest Steviekick Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 While I have never really been a Regal fan, I was really entertained by when he was the commissioner. That was a great role for him.
Guest Johnson1620 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 We can only hope his injuries are carrer ending. I know I don't miss seeing his pasty white ass on the tube every Monday night.

Yea- Just because you don't like him let's hope that the one thing he loves to do in his life gets taken away from him. If you don't like him- change the channel when the Commonwealth Connection come on
Guest Johnson1620 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 If you don't like him- change the channel when the Commonwealth Connection come on I do. But if he's on the shelf I don't have that inconvienence.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 The Countdown has begun...someone may not make it to the end of the week.
