Guest Dangerous A Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Do you think Kurt Angle will get an unexpected face pop at WM due to the War in Iraq? I know probrably not, but it could happen. How will American fans react when they see a man wearing the red, white, and blue and knowing in the back of their minds that there are troops fighting for their very lives that represent the colors Angle is sporting? Also, IF Angle makes it back in a year as expected, do you think that he will come back as a face? Do you think he'll get the face pop a lot of top people get when they return from a long hiatus? In the latest Observer, Meltzer seems to think Angle will come back as a huge babyface because of the layoff. What do you think?

Depends on if WWe embraces that welcome back pop or if they have Angle go out and piss the fans off. Alot will depend on what's going on in WWe in a year's time. If they need a big face then Angle will be a face. Unless alot changes they will need Angle to come back as a heel.

Because people realize how good he is, and they give him heat because he's a great heel. And if lots of fans attending WM come to learn about his impending surgery, he'll get a huge pop. And the stars and stripes won't hurt, either.
Guest Steviekick Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 I think Angle will get a fair pop at WM, obviously for his hardcore patriot gimmick. I'm under the assumption that a fair amount of fans know about his impending surgery and that this could be his last match, so I'm guessing that he will also get some love from the crowd. After all, his this could be his final appearance as an active wrestler.

On SD! the TO crowd was chanting 'We Want Angle' and in NY he got one of the biggest face pops of the night
