Here's an idea about voicing our opinions

Let me get this out of the way first, this is post #1000 for me. Yay!

Now, I was thinking about the proposed boycott May 5th. I notice how many of you state the fact that us not watching has no real effect because if you don't have a Neilsen's box your lack of viewership won't be recorded.

I thought it might be a good idea if everyone wrote a 1-2 page formal letter addressed to Vince/Linda/Jim Ross/Bruce Pritchard voicing their dissappointment and lack of enthusiasm for the current product.

For this to work effectivly I feel though, the bitterness and anger has to be channeled into constructive precise complaints. I'm sure you could do that while also saying how much you dislike HHH and his politics, but the truth is we're reacting to the on screen product. And regardless of how many Meltzer's and Keller's report backstage we don't see it ourselves. The results of it may show up in the on-screen product, but I think our criticisms should be concentrated on responding to just what ends up on camera.

For example, you can criticize HHH's current position by stating that as a viewer his character has become stale and the quality in his perfomance has gone down. He's no longer a compelling or interesting character to deserve so much focus. Also, his tendency to always win in the big high profile matches has made it boring to care about his fueds, because the outcome is apparent that he'll win. In addition, his character never seems weak or threatened, why should we care about his fueds when he's so dominant? If he weren't made out to always be successful and better than his opponents, his character might not be so stale and therefore he might be more interesting to watch.

Of course if you want to see HHH gone completely you could state that his character does nothing for you as a viewer and in fact turns you away from the rest of the product. Say that you would prefer someone else be allowed to look strong and put in his position, someone who hasn't been given the chance before (this knocks out their ability to say that Nash, Goldberg, Michaels is someone new in HHH's spot). Then say that your viewership would increase if such events unfolded.

The criticism should be blunt and honest, but not mean or spiteful. Yes, this maybe how WWE makes you feel, but I've come to realize that most people if criticized harshly respond not by making changes but by continuing to act as they had before with even more ferocity. It's also important that these letter come via the mail instead of email (because apparently they immediately dismiss criticism from the internet). Talk about your history with the product and how you want to enjoy it, but don't feel you are given reasons to enjoy.

Yes I know a lot of you will say that even THIS won't do anything, and I can understand that. And if you do want to try it, email me your letters which I'll print out, because I feel if a bunch are sent together, it'll have a more noticiable effect. And if nothing else, we can't say we didn't try.
