Guest Redhawk Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 Most people around here know the actual history behind The Klique, including all the backstage stuff. But we also know that WWE History is different from real history. So when the announcers today talk about "The Klique" in reference to Kevin Nash and Co., do non-hardcore IWC fans know what they're referring to? I was watching a tape of WM 12 recently, and according to the WWF at the time, The Klique was a group of Shawn Michaels fans who all sat in the same section. Did they ever change that little tidbit and let the casual audience in on the whole Klique thing?
Guest RedJed Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 Not back then they didnt...........they did a piece with HHH years ago where they revealed things a bit more in an effort to establish him as more of an important person overall I think. When DX was formed, I believe things were discussed much more as well. Cant wait to see the WWE spin of things on the whole situation when/if it ever makes a piece on Confidential.
Guest the pinjockey Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 They mentioned the backstage kilque during the DX days and did Confidential stuff about them and the MSG incident so I would imagine when they talk about the Klique they mean the real one and not the Shawn Michaels fan version. Funny though how they dont think the fans have any memories yet in an instance like this they think the casual fans will remember the history.
Guest RedJed Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 Shit how did I miss the stuff on Confidential with the Kliq? When was it aired?
Guest the pinjockey Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 I don't know specifically. I think I remember seeing something about them on confidential. Maybe they mentioned the MSG incident and their real life friendships during the DX invades WCW episode. But I also think they had MSG incident stuff on HHH's DVD, so they have shown footage and smartened up the casual fan to the incident and Klique.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 Pretty much Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, HHH, Scott Hall, X-Pac, and Aldo, errr, Justin Credible. On Justin's shoot interview he goes into the power that the Clique had (although he freely admits he had none), which no one else does. And tells the story about how Nash got the Mountie guy (under his other name though) fired for not doing a job to him in Montrel. Also goes on about how smart it was for Shawn, Hunter, and Pac to be in the WWF. While Kev and Scott were in WCW. And him in ECW...about having friends seperated so that if one of the guys was to lose their job then one of the others could get them one in their company.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 How do you build an angle that references footage of kayfabe being broken? This was the bullshit that WCW used to try to do. It sucked then and it sucks now.
Guest Sakura Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 It's funny how they write this storyline assuming everyone has access to "smart" knowledge.....and then say that those fans are only a small portion of the fanbase.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 It's funny how for some angles, they think the fans are too stupid to remember major plot lines from just a few months ago, but for others, they expect the fans to instantly recall veiled comments made six years ago.

Vince only wants us to remember what he wants us to remember. "Wrastlin" fans are idiots in his eyes.

Not to mention two recent angles based on stuff that happened 20 years ago.
Guest notJames Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 The "Clique" is the name of the backstage group. The "Kliq" was HBK's name for his fans, which was a play on the original term as a sort of "FU" to those in the know. It was in the early stages of DX v1.0 (HBK, HHH, Chyna) that kayfabe was totally broken on the MSG incident. Basically, HBK showed the footage in a pseudo shoot on RAW in order to "get himself fired" so he could join his nWo/Clique buddies in wCw. This was all storyline, by the way. So, any fans who still remember late '97 would know about the Clique and who was in it. And of course, anyone who sat through the above-mentioned Confidential would also know about it. Apparently, the average fan is supposed to recall seeing HHH in the group hug with Nash, Hall, and HBK, because no where in WW_'s actual history has HHH ever associated with Nash/Diesel, much less been seen as one of his bestest friends in the whole world. So how we're supposed to know that, according to JR, "they were once the best of friends, and now the worst of enemies!!!" is beyond all comprehension. Just another example of WW_ bending their own canon in order to justify their crappy storytelling. Of course, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know…

Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 What about Louie Spicolli? I read somewhere he was on the outskirts of it all along with Justin Credible.
