Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 With Kurt Angle and Edge on the sidelines, there is talk that they will be used to council other wrestlers on their matches. Since both are viewed as veterans and backstage leaders, WWE management would like to use both to help younger wrestlers plan out their matches, acting as agents. credit: Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter
ChrisMWaters Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 ...hmm...Edge being an agent...weren't some of the guys here saying that Edge didn't know how to sell properly before? Oh, the irony...
Guest mach7 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Veterans... riiiight. I like Edge & Angle as much as the next guy... but to call them vetarans seems a little odd.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Seems like two good guys to have do it. Gotta stay active anyway.
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 ...hmm...Edge being an agent...weren't some of the guys here saying that Edge didn't know how to sell properly before? Oh, the irony... He doesn't. Angle isn't as bad but he's got the same problem. I expect HHH to give them a few lectures beforehand, so that they can pass on his knowledge of how to be a good worker.
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 When I first saw the title, I was thinking of Edge and Kurt dressed like Secret Service agents, doing Pulp Fiction cliches/Bond cliches. Anyone else?
ChrisMWaters Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 When I first saw the title, I was thinking of Edge and Kurt dressed like Secret Service agents, doing Pulp Fiction cliches/Bond cliches. Anyone else? Kurt and Edge as the Men In Black! Agents A and E! <Edge>This alien TOTALLY reeks of Slimosity! <Angle>Oh it's true, it's INTERGALACTICALY True!
Guest Youth N Asia Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Being with Edge would get Kurt back over as a face if they wanted that
Guest Goodear Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Veterans... riiiight. I like Edge & Angle as much as the next guy... but to call them vetarans seems a little odd. Hasn't Edge been around like five or six years now?
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Being with Edge would get Kurt back over as a face if they wanted that Edge isn't going to be back until NEXT YEAR though. Well, possibly late this year, but not for a long time. Waters: Precisely what I was thinking...ahh...E&C and A was some hilarious stuff.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Yeah, he made his WWF debut in the summer of 1998, and this was after training in the Funkin' Dojo and tooling around the indies for a while.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Edge and Kurt should be co-GMs of Smackdown...plus it would get Steph off tv! NOW THAT'S GOOD TV!
Guest Vyce Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 When I first saw the title, I was thinking of Edge and Kurt dressed like Secret Service agents, doing Pulp Fiction cliches/Bond cliches. Anyone else? Kurt and Edge as the Men In Black! Agents A and E! <Edge>This alien TOTALLY reeks of Slimosity! <Angle>Oh it's true, it's INTERGALACTICALY True! I'd pay to see that movie. Easily worth the 9 buck ticket price.
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Wasn't Edge at WMXIV in the mixed tag match (Sable/Edge vs. Jackie/Marc Mero)? So I think he debuted shortly after the Rumble and had some squash matches, with Mania being his PPV debut. So spring, not summer. Nevertheless, he's been there much longer than most of the SD guys have, so makes sense. Edge and Kurt should be co-GMs of Smackdown...plus it would get Steph off tv! NOW THAT'S GOOD TV! Shame that Vince isn't interested in providing that. I'd mark for that combination.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I'm pretty sure that match was at Summerslam, not WM.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 When I first saw the title, I was thinking of Edge and Kurt dressed like Secret Service agents, doing Pulp Fiction cliches/Bond cliches. Anyone else? I'd pay to see Angle and Edge dressed in black suits talking backstage... Edge: You know what they call a quarter pounder with cheese in France? Angle: they don't call it a quarter pounder? Edge: nah, nah... it's because of the metric system. They call it a Royal with cheese
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I'm pretty sure that match was at Summerslam, not WM. Doh--right. The one at Mania was Luna/Goldust vs. Marc/Sable.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I'm sorry...but what is Edge going to help anyone with? Maybe he can teach everyone his creepy face that he uses when he lays on the mat and slowly waits for his opponent to do something
Guest deadbeater Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 Say what you want about Edge, but he does know when to upnotch during the match as needed, which makes his matches entertaining. Also, as noted, he can do sayings without sounding lame or cliche, which is very hard. Brock for example is very talented, but he needs a way to make the fans pop for something other than the F5. Angle, as very good as he is, can't help him there as they are similar in style. Edge can help him a lot with that.
Guest mach7 Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 Hasn't Edge been around like five or six years now? Yeah, doesn't make him a veteran, though. Well, it could be worse. They could've called him a "ring general" and then I'd have to vomit in terror.

Guest Goodear Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 Yeah, its not like Edge is going to be teaching Eddie Guerrero or anything but there are people that could learn WWE pacing a little better like the members of the FBI and Rhyno (as a face anyway).
