I think she's cute, and finally the WWE is getting over their obsession with the big-boobed blondes, with Gail and some brunettes showing up finally. Gail's got a tiny BUTT of course, but most of the "Divas" are already far larger than average in that area, so maybe it's just the contrast.

Gail, while so far nothing too special in the ring, at least has a different style and a different look. She's not super pretty, but she has an enticing, sexy look and a great body (no implants!), so it's no surprise that people on the board are hot for her. And if that explanation doesn't work, try this... You're asian, you see em all the time. These white boys want to see some exotic ass once in a while. Let 'em enjoy it while she's still employed.

Not to say that Kim is ugly, or anything, far from it, but I never got why so many people were drooling over her based on pictures of her that, IMO, weren't really all that flattering.

Barron: I saw some clips with mostly spotwork, and so far on TV I haven't seen anything too impressive. Downhome was the one who hyped her up and posted a movie of considerably longer length. I don't know what was in that movie since I don't download huge movies, though. EDIT: Mick beat me to the punch.

I had hopes for her, but the word on her performance is not encouraging at all. Unfortunately (or not) I missed both matches, so I am speculating...but what I hear is far from good news.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 It's not that Gail Kim sucks, it's just that she's not very good. She's just-another-womens-wrestler at this point with pretty basic cruiserweight moves and timing issues. Had she debuted in 2000 she would be over like rover.

Seriously, out of all these girls on Raw, Trish is easily the best wrestler and performer. Jazz doesn't count because she's in a completely different league. Molly is cute and is a decent wrestler, but I don't understand why you think she has the ability to carry anyone to a good match. She has a great finisher (that she never uses), but other than that, she's pretty vanilla to me.

Her execution is a little more solid, but on the other hand, no woman on earth can bump like Trish. Which is why she's so good with women like Jazz and Victoria who just maul her for 5 minutes and let her fly all over the ring. But I think Molly's just a very well-rounded woman's wrestler, possibly the best I've ever seen. Plus, yeah she gets cuter every week.
Guest AndrewTS Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 That's because when you see Molly she's usually bumping for her opponent, and as a heel she loses her high-flying moves. She has quite a bit of mat experience that she seems to rarely use. A huge part of carrying a match is bumping well for your opponent. Trish is much more free with what she can do on offense, so that's why she seems more impressive in that regard. So debatably she's a superior "performer" (unless Molly were to turn face again) but Trish is not a superior wrestler.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Molly has some niftly mat moves when she's aloud to do stuff, smooth offense, and is - in my view - the only competant womens wrestler in the company. By that I mean, "her matches don't look overly contrived". She had a real good womens match on Heat a while ago vs. Ivory... I think. Or was it Jackie? Anywho, it was still a nice change of pace from the regular womens matches. While Trish has come a long way from being _just_ eye candy, she still is *trying* to wrestle rather than just wrestling. She isn't very natural in the ring, everything is telegraphed.

And I'm DAMN impressed that all these smaller, more average-sized women are now putting on very decent matches while Chyna, the 9th Fugler of the World, who was supposed to revolutionize the genre, could barely work 5 minutes without being winded. Now if only Vince would carry on that "Size doesn't matter" mentality with the men... That may have been the gayest sentence ever typed.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I don't think her revolutionary offense has quite captured the imagination of the WWE fans yet as Vince planned, but it doesn't help matters when she gets a matrix rip-off vignette setting up her near anti-climatic debut and title win and THEN being partnered with the heat-sucking val venis. Not that I'm making excuses or anything, it's just she wasn't exactly handled the best she could have been.
