Guest TheGame2705 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Gee Maven, need any help in the ring? Storm gave him a lead-in because anybody who ends the boredom gets a face pop. Maven's spot blowing in that match rivaled the Gayda classic and you had TWO face commentators. Both of them. Not one heel to possibly put over Storm ala Bobby Heenan. I don't usually find as many mistakes in RAW or WWE as some others but I gotta say this segment was crap and something should be done.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 There are discussions about giving Maven a push because of his strong promo skills. (Thanks to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter) from this thread. After watching that match? Man, we're sure in for a treat
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I dunno...I only saw Maven blow one spot too bad, and the rest he seemed to cover for. Now, as for the lack of quality to the match...that can be attributed heavily to Maven. Fucking WWE style... Seriously. If a whole lot of these vanilla rookies that WWE is intent on pushing worked elsewhere for a few years besides Ohio "Generic Movesets Galore" Valley, then maybe they might be something watchable.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Only one? That match was horrible.
Guest spiny norman Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 It was still the second best match of the show. Sadly.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Maven on the mic:"Ah'm glad ah won Tuff Enuff 1 to make it here in Dubbya Dubbya EEE, and with mah genayeric moveset, ah will no doubt bore the fans to hayell, but since ah'm still a rookie, ah'll still get pushed as hard as Randy Orton!"
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I like Maven, and I'm shocked they were given so much time. But this gimmick doesn't work that well for Storm when the opponent screws up spots that bad
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 For it to work, they need to feed Storm exciting, energetic wrestlers to show how Storm would slow the match down and make it 'boring'. Of course, the idiots that WWE are they decide to undertake a campaign to make matches slower, take less risks, and tell better stories at the same time, totally clashing with any objective this Storm angle has.
Guest crandamaniac Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I'm still waiting for Storm to take on HHH, just so he can have justification in his match style. And they should make a few alterations to Storm's gimmick. Make him be a "wrestler" who speaks out against "sports entertainment". When the fans start shouting "BORING" have him go outside the ring, grab a mic and yell "I'm showing you braindead morons real wrestling so shut up and watch!".

" I think that would be a interesting turn for Storm. Considering the lack of use that he has received and the unused talent that they are wasting. I think that Storm should then cut a promo saying that he will bring back wrestling to this company and start with the IC belt. Then he could start a best of seven with Booker T a/la Benoit in WCW and at least give the IC belt some good exposure.

That would increase his Smark Darling appear, that's for sure. It's a shame Storm got this "gimmick." This is a real appeal killer for a guy who needed all the charisma he could get to begin with. I just hope the boring chant really catches on, and starts surfaces during Evolution promos.
Guest Choken One Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 He kinda had the same gimmick in WCW but WCW was so dead they went ahead and said "Ah what the hell...Push him"
