The return of the.......

I find it funny how most of us turned our backs on Triple H since he came back because he makes a lousy babyface and he isn't the Athlete he once was.

When The Crippler Chris Benoit comes back, are we gonna turn our backs on him if he returns as a Babyface and isn't able to move and wrestle on the mat like he use too?

I liek how almsot everyone has discovered how many strings have been pulled in Triple H's favor. But when you're in...

I'm not the biggest Triple H fan at this point either but I highly doubt everyone will turn on Benoit like that. An other reason being, Benoit doesn't bury people.

Something tells me Benoit isn't going to come back looking like someone opened a hole in his back and pumped air into all of his upper body muscles....

Who has Triple H buried? Maybe you could say that for Chris Jericho, but what's your excuse for Jericho not being over before HHH returned? Triple H never buried Kurt Angle, like some people tend to think. If he buried Kurt Angle, he would've beaten him at Royal Rumble 2001. He would have beaten him at No Way Out 2002. He wouldn't have let Angle cut funny promos on him. Kurt Angle is doing just fine, and the only trouble he's ever had getting over was when he was a face champ. From No Mercy 2001 to when Triple H came back, Angle was pretty bland, but now he gets bigger heel reactions than anyone, and that's a good thing. Did Triple H hold down Benoit? I can't remember that he did, since the last time they were in the ring together, Triple H lost clean (and tore his quad, if that has anything to do with it).

Yes, Triple H isn't quite as good as he used to be, but remember: most guys have better matches as heels. Why? I have no fuckin' idea, but it's almost always true, except in the case of Angle, who happens to be a demi god, so he doesn't count. Austin had awesome matches as a heel (WMX7, WM13, SummerSlam 2001), Rock had awesome matches as a heel (RR1999, WM1999), Undertaker has had pretty good matches as a heel (Vengeance, WMX8), etc., etc. As a face, guys tend to get repetitive to always hit the spots fans want to see, so I guess that takes away from their inring work.

Triple H's GirlFriend writing his storylines.

Bullshit. Chris Jericho had a verbal feud with Ric Flair and a short wrestling feud with the insanely over (at the time) Rob Van Dam, and he still wasn't really getting much reaction. I think the fans were warming up to him being a heel, but he won the Unified Title too soon, and they got pissed that he had it, therefore getting apathy. Had Angle won it, he would've gotten crazy heel heat, and if Rock or Austin had won it, they would've gotten even bigger pops (especially Austin).

The RVD-Jericho feud was getting a HUGE reaction but was killed anyway.  Why do I know this?  Because I was in the audience the night RVD got his Dusty Finish over Jericho and I was nearly deaf for the rest of the night.

It's kinda hard to turn on someone you never liked in the beginning. I never was a Triple H fan even during his 2000 heel run where everyone was saying he was the best in the business. I always considered him to VERY overrated.

I believe that the bigger question is will Beniot look like a mini Brock Lesner when he makes his big comeback?

Or will Beniot get the HHH comeback....the mainevent spot then climb the ropes and spit water or in Beniot case blow his nose.

Benoit will still look like...Benoit. He Was On Canadian TV a couple of weeks ago and looks just like he did pre-injury but more well rested

Van Dam vs Jericho was nixed in favor of Rock vs Jericho, and Jericho still wasn't really over.

I assume Benoit will have a stockier neck than before. Most of the time, guys will work out their neck like hell to add extra muscle around it after a neck injury like he had. I'm sure most have noticed Angle's lack of neck; that comes from having so much muscle around it, because he broke his neck before the Olympics.

What was the longest period of time Benoit has been out with an injury pre-wwf?

It will be interesting to see, but he will have a good month of ring time behind him, so there shouldnt be that much of a difference.

i dont know, i think at 50% benoit can be as good as a good 80% of the roster

Did you see what his neck looked like before the injury?  It was huge, if he came back with a bigger neck he wouldn't look human anymore.

Benoit is doing the right thing now IMO.  Going to OVW or HWA and training and having matches will get him back to form faster than Austin and HHH who didn't go that route.

I just hope Benoit has been working on his mic skills. Maybe he could join Heynan's stable and let Heynan do the talking. Not that I want to hear Heyman...

Benoit could come back and be the 2nd coming of Hulk Hogan and the Smarks will still say he's the best thing since masturbation.

I don't think he'll hold back for long.  He's got too much heart.

He may end up crippled in the long run like Dynamite but Benoit is the man and he'll continue to prove it when he comes back.  I hope he gets the ME push, but even if not, I just can't wait for him to return.

I think HHH beat him to it.

Thats not true. The only thing that will do is make him look better and work off rust before his first WWF match. It wont be faster just becasue hes not wrestling on tv.

Dude.....how he looks and how he is pushed is two seperate things......plus that question was already asked in the beginning of the thread.

Heels control most of the match so they get to be in control and do more work.

I won't turn on Chris.

And honestly, even if he sucks when he returns (which I doubt will happen), his past work is enough for me to respect the guy till the end.

Seriously, if Benoit retired TODAY, I'd say that his "body of work" is better than HHH's entire career.  I'd be willing to argue that even if Trips wrestled for another 10 years or so ago, he'd never eclipse the quality of Benoit's work up until this point.
