Dawn Marie injured her ankle this past weekend at a WWF house show. She was scheduled to wrestle a dark match at the Smackdown taping on Tuesday but the match had be be cancelled due to her injury. It isn't known right now how long she will be out.

Now I'm not against women wrestling and have enjoyed some of the women's matches of late.  But I don't think the WWF should just rush some of these women into matches.  Stacy and Torrie proved the transition is not easy and now this.  Hope it doesn't set back her tv debut.

Well, I heard that Simon Diamond has been training Dawn Marie for over a year already, and I think she even made the DVDVR Top 100!

This pisses me off more then it should... mostly because Dawn and Simon are supposed to be wrestling here in Keene tomorrow.  They would be the only two reasons why I would even go to the show (which is headlined by, of all people, Hacksaw Jim Duggan) and with this injury... it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see them not make the trip up here... which sucks.... because god only knows I want to see Hacksaw and Tony Atlas!

Hey...nothing wrong with Tony Atlas!

And Dawn wasnt going to go even without the injury. Shes signed to the WWF now.

DVDVR has a top 100 list of women in the world? Where was she on it? I knew shes been wrestling for a while but I didnt know if she was any good.

WWF has been letting the new signee's finish any scheduled indie dates as long as it doesn't interfer w/ WWF TV.

Why is she even being considered for a wrestling role?  The WWF has enough bad female "wrestlers" right now that they don't need to include lovely Dawn Marie.

don't get me wrong, dawn is fine as bejezus, but she has about as much business in a wrestling ring as stacy kiebler.

I dunno, she's schedualed to wrestle.  It's on the SCCW's website and on the banners PLASTERED ALL OVER THE FUCKING SCHOOL.

As for her actual ability... well, they signed her before Simon, and plus Trish has improved 2 billion percent in the past few months.... so who knows.

Seen her wrestle since ECW closed down?  I haven't ... but I'd like to know if you have.

What has she done to deserve being in there? If you really have to make a list of 100 women wrestlers then surely Ivory and Trish should be above her towards the bottom of the list below the Japanese girls? Is it an ECW fanboys list? She doesn't strike me as having the toughness to take regular bumps or punishment, some women just aren't cut out to be anything more than valets.

I don't get why she was wrestling anyways.

She was always just a valet who could take the occassional bump.

Right now the only pure valets in the WWF are Torri and Stacy.  I think Dawn should just be a valet...

Dawn Marie was actually a wrestler for the WWF in the 80's. I have an old WWF mag dated march of '88(with Andre the giant on the cover) and she was involved in the womens survivor series match that year. Her role in ECW was that of a valet who would occasionally get into catfights so her wrestling ability if she has any wasn't on display anyway. Maybe she can wrestle but her role has just never called for it.

She definatly wasn't!  Have you ever been to her website, she didn't get into Wrestling until the early-mid 90's and other than ECW she's only been in the Indy's.  And she's never been a Wrestler because she's only had one year of training, she said "I should have trained before, I never knew how fun it was!" or something to that effect.

I wouldn't trust that Women's Wrestler list though, Dawn Marie (who has never stept into the ring apart from a couple of WWF dark matches) above Trish Stratus and Ivory who have proved themselves on a weekly basis in the WWF??? I don't think so.

It had to be a diffent Dawn Marie then because a Dawn Marie definitely wrestled at the 87 Survivor Series.

It definitely is a different one because this Dawn Marie isn't nearly old enough to have been wrestling at the 87 survivor series. I mean, she could have, but she would have been like 12.

She wrestled in independents. That's how she made the list. And I don't think the DVDVR people are ECW Fanboys at all.

If Dawn Marie is now under wwf contract and her man Simon Diamond isn't, are they broken up? I know that it would be hell on their relationship if one of them is on the big show and the other is on XWF.

I'm just surprised that Sherri Martel is on the list at #79. I didn't know she was still active, let alone better than Molly & Jazz.

DVDVR doesn't give any respect to a wrestler that isn't from or active in Japan.  I mean Molly Holly was #92.

I mean just to see how poor there list is.  Look at Lance Storm's ratings before he ripped into there little list.  He dropped something like 100 spots in a 2 month period of time.

You said she had been training for a year. Wouldnt that mean shes had more matches than in the WWF? And the WWF woudlnt put her in the ring if that was her first match.

And who fought Ivory on Smackdown? I was hearing reports with Kim Neilson and others daying Dawn Marie. Do you think they will debut immediately or go down the farm system?

I wouldn't go so far as to say that DVDVR doesn't respect *any* non-Japanese wrestler, but yeah, a lot of people think that they tend to overrate Indy wrestlers (I seem to recall Meltzer saying this on WOL, during the Storm/DVDVR feud), which probably explains Dawn Marie's appearance on the list.
