If someone, say Angle, lost the WWF belt - what would happen? Would be take a pay cut, be forced to buy the new belt, ect. Also, if the belt was needed on TV/PPV, what would they do? Would they use a replica, have someone fly to Vince's home (or if another wreslter had one in his house in that city, borrow their copy), or something else.

What do YOU think.

The WWF has several different copies of their belts. They don't just make one belt and that's it. I'm sure if a wrestler did happen to accidentally leave his belt somewhere he would have to pay for it someway. He would probably have some amount of heat, but it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal. If he completely lost it... or it was stolen, he would probably have to pay for it, but to my knowledge that's never happened.

I remember when WCW held some shows in the UK in 1995 the swedish announcers went over there and interviewed a couple of the wrestlers. When they interviewed Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma, who were tag team champions at the time, Roma actually forgot his belt in the room when the interview was over. He did get it back from them however.

I thought the WWF had there special guy who carried the belts for the wrestlers from event to event so the superstars don't have to worry about it themselves.

He would be viciously depushed and forced into a boring midcard feud with Edge. Outperforming HHH and losing a belt have the same consequences.

Okay Anglesault, I think it's time you should seek professional help

Why? He asked me what would happen if Angle lost the belt.

BTW, Lance Storm lost the belt once in WCW (He actually left it with the production crew) so he came out with the tag title or something with an Orange Canadian flag over it.

The wrestlers aren't responsible for carrying the belt from venue to venue. They used to do that and have the wrestler fork over some money as insurance, but they don't do that anymore. Free agency put a stop to that.

I know this has nothing to do with losing belts (probably) but do you guys remember the IC tournament where Mr. Perfect beat Tito Santana to win the title? It was in that match that Heenan started managing him and handed him the IC Title belt. Only, if you go back and look at the tape - that is DEFINITELY not an IC Title belt. It's a Tag Team Belt.

Now, I know they used a Tag Team Belt for Ric Flair when he had to give/sell the WCW/NWA Title back to WCW; but I wonder what the excuse was for this particular instance.

I heard that after WM 7 the Nasty Boys gave Willie Nelson one of the Tag belts

yeah I heard that too. But I heard somewhere that they were drunk when they did it. I wonder how they were punished... (because you know they had to have been)

lol. Wasn't really watching then, so I dunno the I-C belt. But on the Flair note, I really don't know why they didn't just tell the truth about the WCW belt. Heenan coulda sold it as the boys down south trying to keep the Real World's Champion from appearing on TV...even said Hogan was in cahoots with Turner or something like that. That would be interesting.

As far as lost belts, I do know that @ Bash at the Beach 95, some guy tried to steal a Tag Belt. Bischoff, apparently, got there just in time to save it.

I'm pretty sure that rumors of a lawsuit were being thrown around at the time because of the Flair/WCW belt. Back then that was pretty heavy, and a definate eye brow raiser. I remember seeing it, and I was about 9 at the time... and even then being the typical stupid WWF/Hogan mark that I was, even I thought it was pretty controversial... this being a time when just mentioning the competition in any way shape or form was a pretty big deal

I don't think there is that much of a punishment.  The belts probably run 2,000 bucks at the most.  I mean the WWF authorizes replicas for 360 that outside of any replicated jewels are the same so I doubt its that big of a thing.

In the old days, losing a title would be a big deal but today they can go to the stands and get a replica of a title and no one will be the wiser. However, if Bubba lost the hardcore title...what do you do? Take the Lightweight title and smash it up and wrap with duct tape?

Yeah, they need to fix that thing. It was a novel idea back when Mankind had it, and apparently it was the title of Hogan's that Mr. Perfect & the Genius smashed up on a Saturday Nights Main Event.

But now, the belt doesn't even have any pieces of gold left on it. It's just a piece of leather with duct tape all over it. I think it's time for a redo of that belt.

Slap a Maple Leaf sticker on it and give it to Lance. ;)

At Wrestlemania VII when the Nasty Boys won the tag titles they went out partying with Willie Nelson and gave him one of the belts. Willie still has it.

What ever happened to the Million $$$ Belt, and the old designs for the WWf titles?  I think some people who lose the belts are punished by getting a stinkface from Rikishi, or jobbing to the nWo.

The Million Dollar Belt is in a vault in Titan Towers.

The WWF usually puts them on display during events like Axxess. Sometimes the belts are given to the wrestler depending on who that wrestler is. Bret Hart has his IC title and WWF title on display in his trophy room. I also think Hogan has all of his WWF belts as well
