Guest TheDames7 Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *breath*......AHAHAHHAAHAHA. Well, you know how Larry Zbyszko has been bitching about Jericho & the WWF using the phrase "Living Legend"? He officially sued them last week for it. According to the Wrestling Observer, turns out the WWF owns the rights to the name, registered when Bruno Sammartino was using it, so his case is going to be thrown out in court. AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. Dames - Board Legend
Guest What?! Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 *points at Zybysko* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 ::Does Kevin Sullivan laugh:: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't sue me, Mr. Taskmaster.
Guest JHawk Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 When are people going to stop taking these little things so seriously? But Larry, as much as I like you, what right do you have to sue over that? You stole the gimmick after the feud with Bruno, so it's yours to sue over? The only reason you were a two-time World Champion is because you were married to a Gagne and the world would have rioted if Greg got it (who, by the way, would have been a better choice than Mr. Saito had he not retired, but I digress). Why not earn the title yourself because you bitch about somebody else using it?
Guest Some Guy Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Larry brought a frivolous lawsuit and cut a very stupid and bitter promo on a guy who he held up for money during his only money drawing ME run, so he deserves to be ridiculed IMO. He acted like an ass and as such should be treated as one.
Guest MixxMaster Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 someone get him a big assed STUPID hat...
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Zbyszko truly is the ultimate living legend... FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!!!!!!!!
Guest papacita Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 I think maybe they should change his name to the Living Pretzel, cuz I know he's feeling salty.
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Maybe he should Rent WM1 and WM2 when Sammartino was in them, and He was Called Living Legend. Thats the stupidest thing I ever heard suing over a Gimmick. Bret Hart should then Sue Tony Stetson for calling himself the Hitman in ECW And on that same token Stetson should Sue whoever was running WCW when they had Broad Street Bully Matches If you watch ECW or WWF whenever they had a Tag team do a Doomsday Device without the Road Warriors presents the commentators be it Joey Styles for ECW and WWF with heyman and JR always made referance to the Road Warriors.. Maybe Animal and Hawk can Sue someone... But I just went off on a Tangant just dumb
Guest Jericholic82 Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Larry indeed sucks I was at that WWA ppv when he cut that bitter promo and man was I angry. He dare he say Chris Jericho is too short to be a world champion when he is but a midget himself. I was like does he really need to be out here wasting my time. man I really wish we hadn't drove all the way there and spent 50 bucks to see a mediocre show. go play golf larry and dream of better times
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 I said it last time and I think I'll say it again... whatta tool!
Guest converge241 Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Maybe the Spicolli's can sue Larry for him staying in character after Louie died.... Tony S. "our condolences go out to the loss of a great young man" Larry: "well im sorry for his family, but he was still a jerk!" paraphrasing what was said but that was the gist of it...
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 (Stands next to Larry Zbyszko, with his "I'm With Stupid ~~>>" T-Shirt)
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 A mediocre wrestler who was a decent heel cries because the last shred of anything memorable he had is gone. The only place he ever was a living legend was in his own personal Larry Land (Those were some stupid promos in his AWA title days).Another bitter man pissed off because his "20 glorious years" have already been forgotten by pretty much everybody.
Guest Human Fly Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 "Maybe the Spicolli's can sue Larry for him staying in character after Louie died.... Tony S. "our condolences go out to the loss of a great young man" Larry: "well im sorry for his family, but he was still a jerk!" paraphrasing what was said but that was the gist of it..." I remember that as well. How rediculous was that? I was never a fan of Larry but after that I could never stand there. It used to always piss me off how at every event he'd go and do that stupid thing with his hands and Mike Tenay would say (in his stale bread tone of voice) "There goes Larry to get his kudos!" What a mark for himself, the judge should make Zybsko pay just for wasting everyone's time. Because it's obvious that he did no research before he filed this suit.
Guest Risk Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 If Larry said that near Stevie Richards and/or Tommy Dreamer (both good friends with Louie) they would have beaten the shit outta him.

Dames - Board Legend This is a ridiculous lawsuit and most like likely just Larry throwing a tantrum because he didn't get a job with the WWF. But I got the impression from Meltzer's comments in the Observer that Zbyszko actually owned the copyright to the name "Living Legend." At least he believes he does. Meltzer said the WWF originally trademarked the name for Bruno in the 80's and that they told him when he left that he would not be allowed to use the title anymore. He continued to use the name and WWF never sued him because they realized what a bad public relations move it would be. Bruno has been out of the WWF for almost 20 years now so I wouldn't be surprised if the WWF let the trademark go at some point.
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 I'd laugh my ass off if Vince countersued Larry and took every penny he had.
Guest papacita Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Edited That Louie Spicolli thing reminds me of something. I stopped watching WCW in summer of 98, but I used to turn to the Thunder replays late at night when I needed to get some sleep (seriously). Anyway, one night I was nodding off when I heard them mention Rick Rude's death. They were just like "We wanna send our condolences out to the family of Rick Rude...who died last night" and Larry and Tony had maybe 2 or 3 more sentences to say about him and that was it. The way they were talking about it I thought it was a work until I got online the next day and realized it was true. Anyway, my question is did WCW ever give him a tribute like WWF does for their wrestlers (10 bell and what not)?
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 I know this came up and I can say with almost certainty that WCW did a tribute (complete with ten bell salute) to Rude on Nitro that week.
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Here's an idea: If Larry can beat Jericho AND Bruno in an electrified Hell In a Cell TLC Ladder Last Man Standing Strap Bra & Panties Match... THEN he can have the rights.
Guest treble charged Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 My favourite Larry moment is from the Nitro in Toronto. The show is just starting, and Larry is ready to do his mandatory bow, but you can hear the crowd CLEARLY chanting, "Larry Sucks! Larry Sucks!". Tony then tells him that his fans are calling for him. So Larry gets up and does his bow, while the chants grow louder. That was his last night as a commentator on Nitro, if I'm not mistaken.

Plus, Jericho's World Title reign came at a time when wrestling is at an all-time competetive high (not ratings-wise, but roster-wise; there's a lot of people in the WWF who would KILL for the top spot) and for the most successful wrestling promotion in the history of the sport, not some (at the time) 2-bit, washed-up, shadow of its former-self dying promotion (AND he STILL had to bang Gagne's daughter to even get the AWA Title). Joe P.
Guest Risk Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 I remember at "Souled Out" when he was facing Hall. The crowd at one point starting a "Larry Sucks!" chant. Tony says it was do to the NWO fans, which is JUST partially true.
Guest Downhome Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 I have always liked Larry, and always enjoyed his matches and his commentating, but with all of that aside... ...I truly wish the WWF would make it so Larry could never again call himself "The Living Legend". I don't think they should counter-sue him right now, but I do feel that they should now infact make it impossible for him to EVER be refered to as "The Living Legend", and if he ever DOES do that again, then they can sue him. No offense Larry, but you deserve it this time.
