Backlash 2000

I'm kinda new here, so I don't know if this goes here or if it would be accepted in the WWF...er, WWE forum.

 

I was watching Backlash 2000 recently. I hadn't seen it in awhile, and I wanted to note a few things...

 

--Dean Malenko is a god among men. He has an awesome match with Scotty 2 Hotty which the crowd was really into, yet two years later, the cruiser division is finally starting to get a halfway decent push.

 

--Lita use to be hot. I know the issue of her vanished attractiveness has been addressed here before, but what the hell happened to the girl that I use to wanna bang more than any other woman in the WWF (outside of Sunny circa '96-'98)? She must've been infected with Chyna's ugliness when they feuded last year.

 

--The Big Show's Hogan impression is still funny. Especially now. I don't know why they wasted Angle in a comedy match on a PPV, though. Wouldn't this have been better off on a Smackdown or a Raw?

 

--If they want Benoit to be heel after he comes back, I am cool with it. But please please please hold off the heel turn until we get at least one more Benoit-Jericho match.

 

And now I shall bring this inane rambling to an end.

I actually watched BL 2000 a day ago, and I was quite shocked on how poor the main event was, nothing like when I first watched it (when I saw it live, everything looked good cause I was just marking up for Austin to come) but I actually saw the rock only do FOUR damn moves!!! I know he's limited to a short move list but that was just pathetic! Ive seen him with a bigger move list on a Raw or Smackdown, but for probably one of the most hyped PPVs in 2000 he does four moves!

Ah yes, 2000, ye olde times of yor when wrestling was good and signing Hogan was a joke. Except wrestling was good.

Actually, I thought Lita looked really good the last few times she was on TV before her surgery. Maybe the makeup people at Dark Angel are better than those at Raw Or Jeff Hardy, whoever does her makeup.

Yes, that match with Scotty rocked and it made the PPV for me, because while everything else was either good or great, NO ONE cared about Malenko/Scotty going into the PPV and yet Dean made them care by having an amazing match that proved how much of a God he was. As for as I'm concerned that's the only time Dean himself as a wrestler has been allowed to shine in the WWF. To bad he fell off the face of the earth right afterwards and never showed his face again, accept to feud with Lita, of course.
