Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 WWE announced today that Excess is being placed by two new shows - WWE Velocity and WWE Confidential. Velocity will feature the Smackdown crew, while Confidential will be a live show overviewing the entire WWE, including both rosters. Also, the syndicated shows Jakked and Metal are being replaced. The Raw crew syndicated show will be called WWE Bottom Line. The Smackdown crew syndicated show will be called WWE After Burn. Raw, Smackdown, and Heat remain unchanged. "This new Line up better reflects our brand extension, and will further define the WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown! brands, as well as advancing and reinforcing storylines and our Superstars," said Linda McMahon, CEO of WWE in a press release today. Heat will remain on Sunday nights hosted by Raven and Coach featuring Raw talent. Bottom Line will be a magazine format show analyzing happenings from Raw and Heat Velocity will feature original arena matches featuring the Smackdown crew. Marc Loyd and Al Snow will host. After Burn will be a magazine show looking at the happenings on Smackdown that week. Confidential, which follows Velocity, will be a magazine style program with features on today's WWE action and features on the past, such as matches from past years. There will also be "day in the life of" features on various talents.
Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 WHOOPIE!!!!!!!! Actually, "Confidential" doesn't sound that bad. Figures they put that one on Saturday nights at Mid-nights. Bastards!
Guest Nevermortal Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 I can't wait for Confidential. Sounds boss. Hopefully they incorporate old WCW footage as well.
Guest dreamer420 Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 I like it. It is going to give the Raw and Smackdown brands more time to showcase their talents, although some Smackdown guys might have to move over to Raw.
Guest Repo Man jr Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 I can't wait to watch Jakked with a brand new name! Thats gonna be great.
Guest Choken One Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 Why are Marc loyd and Al Snow hooking up? Make it Coach/Snow instead. or Raven/Coach. meanwhile, This sounds like a good ldea, although "WWE Bottom Line" sounds odd but better then JAKKED. Let's see whom they put on the shows. I'm afraid they mean "Planet Stasiak Vs Mark Henry" as main events...hope not.
Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 I can't wait for Confidential. Sounds boss. Hopefully they incorporate old WCW footage as well. BAWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh, you were serious about them showing WcW stuff?
Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 Oh, you were serious about them showing WcW stuff? Hey, it could happen. The latest Austin DVD features some of his WCW work.
Guest treble charged Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 I was wondering why I saw "WWE Velocity" in the WWE leader before Raw. I thought maybe it was some international show or something.
Guest converge241 Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 sounds good, looks like ill be using my vcr timer more and more.. maybr ill spring for the TiVo
Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 its good that there adding new shows the smackdown roster needed another showcase really only having one no one watches metal or jacked or whatever so this should be good now we can look forward to two great promos one for get the f out and another for all the new shows
Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 Sweet! Now I will get to see the Jakked/Metal matches, because they are going to be showing it on TNN.
Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 I want them to bring back: Saturday Night's main Event The Main Event Prime Time Wrestling (it was fun to watch the commentators and wrestlers argue around a table)
Guest art_vandelay Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 It's about time they did something with Excess and the ridiculous Jakked/Metal confusion. Finally we get the Vault segments back, and 2 wrestling shows that may actually be worth watching now. The magazine shows should be in syndication since most of the people who don't see WWE, probably don't have TNN and could more than likely see the highlights on a syndicated channel. I would have preferred a team of Snow and Kevin Kelly over Mark Loyd. At least Kevin Kelly knows the names of a few wrestling moves.
Guest JMTapes Posted May 9, 2002 Report Posted May 9, 2002 A thousand times yes! I always mark for TV shows getting the axe. -Jim www.jmtapes.com
Guest Choken One Posted May 9, 2002 Report Posted May 9, 2002 I'ts not really getting the AXE...more like a revamped thing.
Guest JMTapes Posted May 9, 2002 Report Posted May 9, 2002 Yeah, I probably could have worded that better. Take it easy. -Jim www.jmtapes.com
