Guest Redhawk Posted May 10, 2002 Report Posted May 10, 2002 I really really really REALLY hate this new, "[Wrestler X], let's show you some footage before I ask you a question" style they're doing. First of all, half the time they just look off somewhere off-camera, where there'd be no reason for a TV. At least keep them looking at the wall monitor. Second, Coach and Terri make Michael Cole look like an intelligent interviewer. Here's a sample: Terri: "Bradshaw, last week you were attacked by Kevin Nash and the nWo. Now what I want to know is, what do you think about that?" Haven't these people ever watched 20/20? Up Close? Hell, UNscripted would do. It's NOT that hard to interview someone, especially when you're interviewing a character and not a real person.

Guest Posted May 10, 2002 Report Posted May 10, 2002 Having the wrestler look off camera to view whatever footage isn't so stupid. TV monitors are often kept just off camera--particularly in that kind of set-up.

For example, Bradshaw will be looking dead at Terri and saying: "Flair, if you ever accuse me of joining the nWo, I'ma beat your ass!"

I believe that the style of interviewing displayed by Terri and Coach is not by their own doing. Basically, they are given a script to follow. So I can't really say that they suck. Well, Terri is awful. She just regurgitates her lines. At least Coachman has some feeling. I think he is an ok interviewer.
