Guest Black Tiger Posted May 11, 2002 Report Posted May 11, 2002 There is losts of bitching about how Christian is being used, I agree that he is very good and extremely misused, but has anyone looked into the history of tag team breakups? Smoking Gunns: Billy joined NAO, Bart knocked out Dr. Death and was knocked out by Butterbean NAO: Billy feued with Rock, Road Dogg was doing commentary in hardcore matches, then the reunited, Then they split, Billy won IC Title, Dogg teamed up with K Kwick. Dudley Boyz: Bubba dances and is pretty over, D-Von is a reverend. APA: Bradshaw teams with Austin, Faarooq bets on Mark Henry No wonder Christian is treated like shit now, WWE pushes one guy and burries another.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted May 11, 2002 Report Posted May 11, 2002 Agreed, but D'Von is the one being pushed. Not Bubba.
Guest Posted May 11, 2002 Report Posted May 11, 2002 You just reminded me...where is K-Kwiq now? I always thought of him as a promising cruiser.

Guest Rick001 Posted May 12, 2002 Report Posted May 12, 2002 K-Kwik was let go at the end of 2001 his contract was up and he didn't re-sign. Too bad I thought he was good but you know how vince is with Black peeps. Just look at Ahmed Johnson, Virgo, Farooq, Booker T, Viscera and so on....
Guest Posted May 12, 2002 Report Posted May 12, 2002 Just look at Ahmed Johnson, Virgo, Farooq, Booker T, Viscera and so on.... Ahmed Johnson's downfall was mostly of his own doing, and Viscera's problem was that he was an untalented, useless, not over, fat fuck. Your point stands, though. And though D-von is the more actively pushed of the two, I think Bubba's the more over.
Guest Nevermortal Posted May 12, 2002 Report Posted May 12, 2002 Rockers = Michaels: Pushed to the moon, eventually becomes first Grand Slam champion and widely regarded as one of the best performers of all time.. Janetty: Pushed for a bit, but fades into an existance of drugs and other bad things.

Faarooq? Geez, the only guy with TALENT that you listed was Booker.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 The whole Christian/Edge breakup was fucked up from the beginning. They were heels, but Edge made a half-assed face turn by making fun of Billy Gunn. I guess Christian was a face by association, and the whole Invasion supposedly turned everyobody faces on the WWF side. Christian's heel turn didn't have the impact that they thought it would have because Edge and Christian weren't effectively turned faces.
Guest Risk Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 I miss "The Toronto Blondes"(my name for Copeland and Reso). I also thought Copeland, Reso, Rhino, and Angle had GREAT potential as a Horsemen-like stable; with Angle as leader(He already yells "Whooo!"), Rhino as the enforcer, and The Blondes as the tag team.
Guest converge241 Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 more history: Hart Foundation: Bret goes to IC, then World. Neidhart becomes WHO?, New Foundation Strike Force: Rick gets The Model and a push , Tito gets thrown an el matador bone I still think all they needed to do to get christian over was give him the michaels push complete with bodyguard so fans could take him seriously. like Bautista or McCullough couldnt have just been slapped in there?
