Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 On the law last night, they said the plan right now is to have Angle win and cut Edge's hair to freshen up his character on his way to main event status. I hope this is true.
Guest cabbageboy Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 That booking sounds so goofy to me. I mean, Angle's hair is alredy going so he might as well shave it off. Add to that it is part of Edge's basic look to have the long hair. Sounds odd to me. Besides, how on earth can anyone take Edge seriously at a main event level if he jobs to Angle TWICE and has his head shaved to boot? Edge with a buzzcut look would be almost like Sting.
Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 On the law last night, they said the plan right now is to have Angle win and cut Edge's hair to freshen up his character on his way to main event status. I hope this is true. This is obviously Triple H's doing. He's holding down Edge's hair because he (Hunter) can't stand the fact that anyone would surpass his own hair's glory days, 96-98. (Great. Now I'm making retarded HHH jokes, too.) Well, if that does in fact happen, I guess we can expect Angle to CHEAT TO WIN~! this time around. I don't see how Angle going over Edge twice in a row and cleanly would do Edge any favors.
Guest DrEvil Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Maybe the plan is to have Edge go the same route as Jeff Jarrett, a goofy cartoon character who takes on a more serious role after getting his hair chopped. I can't see that happening though. Edge's hair is too much of his personality and persona to get rid of it.
Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 But when's the last time a heel won a hair v hair match. I mean Piper beat Adonis and X-Pac beat Jarrett, but that's the only two I remember anyway. --------------- http://www.americasguest.cjb.net
Guest Kinetic Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 But when's the last time a heel won a hair v hair match. I mean Piper beat Adonis and X-Pac beat Jarrett, but that's the only two I remember anyway. X-Pac was a face when he won that match.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 From what I've ever seen, Flair is the only face to have ever lost his hair in this type of match (Russo)
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Hmm....I just can't picture Edge without the hair. But I want Angle to win so badly.....
Guest buffybeast Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 I have hard time believing Edge will lose his hair on Sunday. His long, blonde hair is so identifiably him that he'd look funny without it. Like someone already mentioned, Angle is already losing his, so it makes more sense for him to lose it. Of course, if Edge is in line for a serious ME push, then maybe the company feels like a new look is in order.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Edge might look fairly wicked with short spiked hair. He'd look stupid bald. In any case, they should just change it to a Left Arm vs. Left Arm match, and the loser has to get amputated.
Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Edge would like such a tool with no hair and the fans could turn on him. He has to beat Angle, who wouldnt even look that bad bald.
Guest converge241 Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 hey i could see them going either way.. there is potential in having angle with various wigs and hats to get the fans "you suck"ing him more... but Edge's hair looks awful, stringy.. so how about this, Edge wins but Kurt cuts off a chunk of his hair for revenge after, so its doen to a normal manageable length at which time he can go to the salon w/Nash (j/K about that last part)
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Eddy Guerrero beat Chavo Guerrero Jr at Bash at the Beach 1998 as a heel.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Angle shaved clean would probably make him look younger. He'd still have the hair, its just kind of like stubble. With his bulky physique and his huge neck, he'd look more badass to me.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 I stand corrected Kahran. But as I was posting I began to think how anti-climatic having a balding guy with really short hair anyway get his head shaved. I mean who would get excited to see the heel actually get something to make him look better?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 I agree that having Angle win is stupid.
Guest dreamer420 Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 I hope that is true too. Edge even stated that he was getting tired of having the long hair recently in an interview so hopefully he'll lose his and Kurt will keep his.
Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 I can just see both of them losing somehow. Edge would look like an alien without hair. Kurt would look fine, I think. Edge can get his new look, and if Kurt lost his hair, I can just see his face when the crowd laughs. I love Kurt.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Edge would look goofier than he does now with short hair. Jarrett looked more like a badass with short hair, but Edge doesn't have the right face for a bald head.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 You guys are forgetting one thing about the Hair vs. Hair match. The loser almost never gets shaved bald, they just lose most of their hair. I think Edge would look good with short hair, Angle on the other hand already has short hair, so why have him job?
Guest J*ingus Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Angle's hair is so short anyway that it would only take a couple of weeks for it to grow back out to its present length if he lost.
Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Does anyone know if there's ever been a double DQ or double count out in a hair vs. hair match? It'd be pretty crazy to see BOTH men lose their hair........
Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 I think maybe the situation begs for the return of Christian to an actual storyline, like coming down to help Kurt win and cut Edge's hair. Or maybe I just want Christian back on TV --------------------- http://www.americasguest.cjb.net
Guest Ravenbomb Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Maybe Edge will lose and they'll have him look like Tyler Durdan
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted May 14, 2002 Report Posted May 14, 2002 it makes sense for angle to win, as he will be pretty much bald to the hogan level pretty soon anyway. also, edge needs the gimmick change as he *beyond* stale as the "goofy, fun loving larrakin" to paraphrase cole, and how can that be taken seriously in the main event. shaving his hair also gives him an edgy quality, and adds another dimension to his character, something he needs to main event. angle goes over at judgement day, then the new psycho-edge can finally get the win at KotR. it will mean a lot more if it happens that way, and will have shitloads of heat.
