Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted May 15, 2002 Report Posted May 15, 2002 I say they should reuse the horrible angle they used at Wrestlemania 9 this Sunday at Judgement Day. At WM9 Yokozuna beat Bret Hart and then Hogan came out and beat Yoko in an impromptu match. From what I've heard, they are giving the belt to Undertaker at JDay. I don't see UT doing anything for ratings so I say after he wins, have Steve Austin come out and challenge him saying that Undertaker didn't beat him fair and square to be the number 1 contender and that he'll whoop his ass right there. UT accepts, SCSA stunners him and wins the belt, and he can hold it til Benoit, Angle or Y2J can take it from him.
Guest Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 They should bring back Hogan's old buddies John Tenta, and Ed Leslie to beat his ass in six new gimmicks each.
Guest Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 I think they should bring the Shockmaster back. He can burst through the center of the ring and then "shock" X-Pac. Then X-Pac can steal his helmet and then reveal the true identity.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 With the initial scenario, it would be out of character for the Undertaker to grant Austin a match right then and there. Remember his feud with Flair, Flair was reluctant at first, but then agreed to fight, so Taker said he didn't want the match anymore. Taker has also been walking away from potential altercations in recent months.
Guest dreamer420 Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 They should redo the Hogan/Kidman feud from WCW 2000, without Bischoff this time though. That was actually a pretty decent little feud they had and I'm pretty sure Kidman even got a win over Hogan.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 Yeah, he did but I think it included a fluke roll up and a fast count from Bischoff. I'm pretty sure it was on PPV too.
Guest Smeghead Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 They did this angle in ECW as well. Twice. Tommy Dreamer wins title from Tazz, then loses it a few minutes later to Justin Credible. Sandman wins the title from Steve Corino, then loses it to Rhino. I hated it both times (for different reasons). But in this case, I'd be in favor of Austin making the impromptu challenge and taking the belt, as I really don't want to see the title on Hogan or Taker right now.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 Kidman never beat Hogan on ppv. That was a Nitro.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 You know, if it's a bad idea, usually decent logic prevales and it doesn't happen. Then again, like someone mentioned before, Paul Heyman had no problem using that finish TWICE in his promotion, and wouldn't you know, rumor has it, he's back in power. Lets see how many promotions he can sink in two years!! Seriously, why the hell would you want to do this? It was a bad idea then, it was a bad idea when Paul stole it for ECW, and it's a bad idea now. Shit, while we're at it, why don't we just take another crappy Hogan idea and have a rematch the following Raw, then SWERVE everyone by having Hogan win the title back via eyepoke? Hell, it did nothing but hurt business for WCW, and they went out of business eventually, so why the hell not? And so on. Seriously, threads like this remind me what a tragedy it is when cousins marry. No offense, or anything.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 I think that'd really cheapen the title, not that it hasn't been cheapened enough already with undisputed nonsense and, if the rumors are true (which I somehow doubt are, as is generally the case with rumors), monthly title changes. Not to mention it really takes a lot away from the original challenger... it made Bret Hart look really stupid since he fought for a whole match and lost and it only took Hogan seconds to win the title. If you're going to reuse an old Hogan angle, why not go for Vinnie Ru at Bash at the Beach? If you REALLY want to see Austin involved just put him in Jarrett's place.
Guest muzanisa Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 I really hate that angle. That was what really totally turned me against Hogan back when the only "smart" knowledge I had came from the Apter mags; and it further cheapens the title.
Guest Posted May 16, 2002 Report Posted May 16, 2002 ERASE THIS TREAD NOW!!!!! Triple H or Steph might get see it and steal the idea's!!!!!! Triple comes out and beats Taker in 3 seconds, flat! After he squashes Jericho earlier in the night of course.
Guest Posted May 17, 2002 Report Posted May 17, 2002 They should bring back Kevin Sullivan, Ed Leslie, and John Tenta, and have them team up with the Big giant, and Ray Traylor to reform the Dungeon of Doom.
Guest crandamaniac Posted May 17, 2002 Report Posted May 17, 2002 to quote DX here I GOT 2 WORDS FOR YA: Sumo Monster Trucks! (oh wait, that's 3 words) well anyways, it'll be money in the bank regardless
