There's some interesting comments in the latest columns up on the Torch website. Bruce Mitchell pretty much hits the nail on the head about all the problems with the current WWF product. Steve Austin is their biggest star and their biggest draw, yet he's in a dead feud with Ric Flair, Big Show and X-Pac. The last thing the WWF needs is Taker on both shows to build up a feud between him and Triple H. Kurt Angle should have been groomed to take over Rock's spot in the top tier. And Chris Jericho is once again playing second fiddle to a McMahon in his feud with Triple H.

 

But it appears that having to review that weekly abortion known as RAW has done some damage to Jason Powell. He predicts rather boldly that Triple H will put over Jericho and make all of his (Triple H's) critics eat their words. His reasoning is that HHH is smart enough to know that a win does nothing for him but would be a huge deal for Jericho. Powell also believes that Triple H is smart enough to know he needs to face heels that people view as a serious threat to him.

 

I agree with the first part. And that's the reason why Jericho will NOT win. As for the second part, he's got Vince and soon Undertaker. Who else do you need?

 

But Triple H is more than welcome to <in my best Chris Benoit impersonation> prove me wrong.

 

Powell goes so far as to promise to join the Triple H net bashers if Jericho doesn't win. But he does leave himself an out by saying only if Triple H wins without "somehow elevating Jericho" in the process. Jericho will not be elevated in any way by losing. Period. Fully Loaded 2000 has come and gone.

I say that Triple-H plays the heel and murders Jericho tonight.  Jericho can take some crazy bumps and all that, then do the double turn later this week.  HHH beats Hogan for the title tomorrow night.

 

If Jericho stays heel and wins tonight, then HHH will win a rematch at KOTR.  Probably a handicap match against Jericho & Vince ???

The only way - and I mean, the only way - HHH loses is if Taker runs in and throws him off the cell in a padded bump (they might even use the same air-matress from their WM X7 match!) and Jericho gets the tainted win. That would set up the main event where everyone runs in and HHH ends up costing Hogan the title to Taker, which will of course lead to the SHADES OF GRAY between HHH and Hogan which, of course = HUGE RATINGS. And so on.

I dunno, I think you might just want to take him off the list on the simple principle that the WWE seems to have a copy of your shit list and uses it to draft their main event picks. Just a thought.

My Bold Prediction:

 

If Jericho gets the win over Triple H, Triple H will reclaim his job and any #1 contender spot that may be on the line tonight on the following smackdown, so that "he doesn't lose his heat" due to losing on a ppv.

 

Meanwhile, he'll throw the roid rage tantrum of facedom (which is only "whining" when Bret Hart does it.  When Austin or Triple H or anyone else does it, its cool and it shows how much ATTITUDE they have).  He'll destroy UT with a sledgehammer AFTER he helps UT win the title (because he's the "cerebral assassin," yo) to close out the PPV.  Hogan will be mad at him, but he'll Kill Hulkamania on the smackdown after he gets Jericho.  Then he'll destroy Undertaker at King of the Ring to become the 2-Time Undisputed Wee-Wee Champion.

Oh come on now, BPS.  HHH let Jericho beat him up along with 6 other guys on SD!, he needed to get his heat back from that tremendous amount of offense that Jericho got in on him.  Plus Jericho is too short to be a main eventer.
