Guest Nevermortal Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 A lot of speculation is making the rounds today concerning the outcome of the Hulk Hogan/Undertaker Undisputed Title match which will happen tonight at Judgment Day. Most believe that WWE wants to get the title off of Hogan, which would seem to indicate the Undertaker winning the belt. However, there is also some talk of holding the belt up and having the winner of this years King of the Ring tournament be crowned as the new champion. We will see what happens tonight. This would be really good, as I don't want to see Hogan keeping the belt, nor do I want to see UT get it. Although would it break tradition at KOTR, not elevating a new star?
Guest bcu1979 Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 As much as I hate the idea of Taker getting the belt again, I don't think holding up the belt is a better solution. They'd just put the belt on Taker or Triple H anyways and Hogan would lose without even doing a job. BTW, I think someone at the wwe.com internet site put up the card for tomorrow night's Smackdown house show a little early. It pretty much gives away the finish to one of the matches tonight.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 I'm all about holding up the belt. However...I think it only fair to warn that the tourney will end with HHH beating Edge in the finals.

Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 It does? I'm not seeing anything too shocking there...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 The Hogan vs. Jericho match is not listed as a WWE title match (which they always are)...so it could mean that Taker is winning... ....but at the same time....I read on the observer that they decided to put Hogan over HHH just before the show last month...so they don't even know what they are going to do.
Guest bcu1979 Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 It does? I'm not seeing anything too shocking there... There's no mention of the Hogan/Jericho match being for the WWE title. That is what I noticed originally. But looking at it closer I see there's no mention of the tag title or cruiserweight title either. So I guess it doesn't give away anything after all. Although I think Triple H working a Monday night house show might qualify as shocking to some.
Guest art_vandelay Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 Although would it break tradition at KOTR, not elevating a new star? That tradition hasn't served its purpose in many years. I'm all for having a Main Eventer's KOTR. Tournaments are cool.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 Also, why would Hulk Hogan be on the SmackDown! show if he lost the title to UT? He should be on Raw then. If you ask me, this tells us that Hogan will retain the title or it will be held up.
Guest Human Fly Posted May 19, 2002 Report Posted May 19, 2002 Tournaments are pretty cool, but if UT and Hogan are involved in some weird scenario you know they will be in it. Here's who I figure would be in the Tournament -Undertaker -Hulk Hogan -HHH -Stone Cold -Big Show (He is getting his yearly push) -Chris Jericho -Kurt Angle -Edge Half of those guys haven't worked many good matches this year, and Stone Cold hasn't cared for a while. Maybe they could make the tournament 16 wrestlers. If they would the quality would be a lot better (hopefully).

Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted May 20, 2002 Report Posted May 20, 2002 Jamie Knoble vs. Shannon Moore Awesome!
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 20, 2002 Report Posted May 20, 2002 I don't think that a tournament would be exciting at all.... have Hogan go over Taker tonight, and HHH and Y2J do the double turn... HHH is considered the #1 contender for winning HIAC tonight, and goes over Hogan for the title later this week. Hogan and Taker are then put out to pasture.
