When they first brought Big Show in, wasn't the idea to have a megafeud with Show vs. Austin?  

 

Here it is years later, and they still haven't ever faced off one on one in a PPV event...

I think Vince wanted Andre - Hogan 2K with that, but then he realized that he couldn't get Show over enough as a face, so his heel turn would be Andre-like in its proportion.

Well The Big Show came in as a heel didn't he? And they had there first match on RAW and it was supposed to be "huge".

I think the plan was for Austin vs Big Show at WrestleMania 2000. Of course that didn't happen for a number of reasons (Austin injured, Big Show not catching on with the crowd, Rock, HHH, and Foley being the most over wrestlers at that time).

Yeah acording to Foley, they had him come in as a heel to set up the whole WM XV match between Austin and Rock, but since Vince wanted him to fight Austin the next year at WM2K, he decided to turn show face at 'Mania (when he turned on Vince) so that they could keep Austin and Show "on the same side" so to speak. I'm assuming the plan would have been to have them team up at some point, only to have Show turn heel on Austin again... that was scrapped when Austin got hurt I'm assuming...

 

According to Foley, the plan was to have Show vs HHH for the Title at Royal Rumble 2000, which was to be held at MSG. At an MSG house show about 2 months before the Rumble, Vince was not please with the reaction Show got, so he decided to take the title off of him and let Foley fight HHH for the title instead.

 

I remembered hearing a rumour that Big Show was guaranteed a spot in the main event of WM 2K, and if that was true, it would explain why he was included in the Fatal Fourway type scenario that ended up unfolding.
