Another angle question.......

Thanks to all the AWO members (and non members too) for responding in kind to my earlier Angle/face run post. As funny as some of the flaming/humor posts are to me, the serious discussion ones where people have good, valid arguments are awesome to me.

 

Here we go. Scenario- Angle decides to take time off to train for the Olympics. (as well as be around his new child due very soon) Now we all see the first class treatment (wink,wink) the writing team has given our Olympic hero. Let's assume they ramp Angle down and de-push him farther than he is already potentially headed. Sucess in the Olympics aside, what if Angle while away says "I don't need this bullshit, I have a brand new child and family now. Money is not a problem.(assuming) Why do I need to go back to grueling days on the road? Why put up with fighting the writing team when I know they hate me? Fuck this shit, I'm not coming back"

 

How would all you Angle-maniacs take it? Would Anglesault become Jerichosault or Benoitsault? Would Angle-slam attempt to assassinate Steph or any member of the writing/booking team? Or would you guys just adopt another workhorse to keep you even interested in WWE? Would you even be interested in WWE anymore?

 

I am not asking this to annoy Angle fans. I like Angle too. I just wanted to know from the rabid fans what would you do if this potentially real scenario were to come true?

I'm not the biggest Angle mark here, but I do like the guy, and I am in the majority that feel he needs to be higher than he is... but if he were to go in that direction, sure I would be dissapointed, but if he felt that that would be best for him and his family, more power to him. I would probably think about that as well if I were in his position.

But in all seriousness, if Angle left, there would not really be any reason to watch the WWF apart from Booker, RVD and the Cruiser division if it's pushed right.

I mean as much as some people hated him, and his SharpShooter sucked, Rocky was along with Angle, Booker, RVD, Jericho, Christian, and the Hurricane, the only entertaining characters from the start of 2002.

I kind of expect him to say "screw this" after he leaves for the Olympics, so I won't be shocked. If that were his decission, I'd respect that. I'd probably become AustinPress or something.

CHRIST! Hasn't Edge done enough damage? Edge Feuds are bad enough for one month, horrible for two, but deadly for three. Look what it did to Regal! This little feud that couldn't is just going to keep chugging along until Angle is totally destroyed, isn't it?
