He beat Hardcore Holly at the last house show.  It was in Canada though, that was the only reason.  Odd because both are technically heels.

The ME, of course, was HHH over Kurt Angle.

Jericho won, too, beating Edge (not clean, of course).

At least the guys were put over in their own home country.

Reminds me of how each time the WWF goes to Memphis, Lawler always gets and wins a match, and how everytime Terry Funk wrestles in Amarillo, Texas he seems to win.

Though I find it odd that Canada, though a full country, is considered to be almost a hometown as far as wrestling goes.

I read that the Storm/Holly match was booked as Canada/USA and Storm got a good pop.

In the eyes of wrestling bookers, Canada is pretty much considered to be like a US state.  Like how everytime the WWE is in Texas, Bradshaw is put over as an "ass kicking Texan".

Vince Russo is the worst for this, as he considers Canada to be an extension of Montreal.

I find it strange that every time the wwE (fuck I hate that) is in a wrestler's hometown they put him/her over, but whenever they're in Oklahoma they beat up and humiliate JR.

I always thought that was funny.

1) He's small. This basically stands by itself as a major knock on the guy as far as they're concerned.

2) He's not home-grown. Another big issue here, I think. WWE has always been about home-grown stars, really. Thus, Maven, Randy Ortan, Test, ect. get pushed, while Storm does not.

3) I think they essentially view him as Benoit/light. He's smaller, doesn't look as menacing, can't chop as well, and isn't as accomplished in the ring. Essentially, while Benoit is just so great in the ring that they simply can't help but notice, Storm's great work-rate isn't great enough to overshadow everything else about him that they find to be completey average. Dean Malenko fell into this trap too.
