Guest bob_barron Posted May 28, 2002 Report Posted May 28, 2002 I'm just wondering since I cant think of any other WWF/WWE match that went 20+.
Guest Ripper Posted May 28, 2002 Report Posted May 28, 2002 I remember a Money Inc./Steiner Brothers match going on damn near a hour. I know thats a while back but I don't remember a match beating that.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted May 28, 2002 Report Posted May 28, 2002 I remember a Money Inc./Steiner Brothers match going on damn near a hour. I know thats a while back but I don't remember a match beating that. I seem to remember that being on Superstars or Challenge, but I could be wrong. Perfect/Flair was also a good, long match, as was Michaels/Janetty when Janetty won the title. Everyone hates 1993 because the PPVs blew, but the weekly shows were awesome that year.
Guest Ripper Posted May 28, 2002 Report Posted May 28, 2002 I remember it definately being on Monday night. I remember Marking like a bioth when they "hung" IRS by his Tie, and also for the creative finish. I think they replayed it later and hacked it to death. and made it like 20 minutes.

Are you talking about that steel cage match from 93 that was like a week before the Steiners took on the Heavenly Bodies at Summerslam? Because I think that was like one of those USA "specials" that they used to do a week before the PPV. Sort of like halfway between a saturday night main event and a raw kind of show.
Guest Madmartigan21 Posted May 28, 2002 Report Posted May 28, 2002 I'm fairly certain Benoit vs Austin for the title last year on Smackdown from Edmonton was more than twenty minutes.
Guest y2jailbait Posted May 28, 2002 Report Posted May 28, 2002 I can remember Jericho Vs. Rock from last year going awhile, also Bret Vs. Sid from Raw in 97 was a bit long as well.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 28, 2002 Report Posted May 28, 2002 I checked out my Prime Cuts tape. The Steiners-Roqueagu Brothers (Quebec Rules) match was about 16 without commercials. The Battle Royale that Razor and Martel co-won ran about 18 minutes minus commercials, so I think this one would have the Ladder match beat.
Guest bob_barron Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 Benoit-Austin went 19:54. Jericho-Rock went 15:07.
Guest Madmartigan21 Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 Benoit-Austin went 19:54. Jericho-Rock went 15:07. Where did you find those match times?
Guest bob_barron Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 Slash wrestling. Actuallly Benoit-SCSA went 19:34
Guest papacita Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 Smackdown in 99 also had a pretty long Survivor Series Tag Match with DX Vs Austin, Rock, Shane and...Other.
Guest JHawk Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 I have a habit of writing match times in notebooks, and I had to do some searching, but here are a few. Bear in mind these include the commercials, so pre-taped matches might have been shorter. The IC battle royal (9/27/1993) was 23:35 The Quebecers title victory over the Steiners (9/13/1993) was 21:55 The Flair-Hennig loser leaves WWF match was 22:07 I also remember a 20-something minute Shawn Michaels-Razor Ramon match on August 1, 1994 that was near my hometown but I can't find that notebook with the match time anywhere.
Guest Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 For those match times listed, do they account for editing? On taped shows, such as SmackDown, portions of the match can be clipped, thus altering the actual amount of match time you see on TV. I know this has been done on SmackDown, especially matches that get extended over a commercial break. An example would be TLC III from last May.
Guest Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 Austin and HBK Vs Owen , and Bulldog for the tag titles in 97 went around thirty minutes.
Guest bob_barron Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 According to SK's review of the match HBK/SCSA v. Hart Foundation went 12:24. The eliminationm match on SD! went 10:24
Guest nWoScorpion Posted May 29, 2002 Report Posted May 29, 2002 SSlam Spec. 1993: Steiners vs. Money Inc (w/ comemrcioals)went 30+ minutes.
