"During his match with Christian last night, Maven suffered a broken bone in his leg (I believe it was his fibula, but I am not 100% sure). He broke the bone early in the match with Christian doing a baseball slide but sucked it up and finished the bout. Early diagnosis is that he will be out of action for two months. "

This is kind of sad to see. I actually like Maven.

Too bad.  I really feel that Maven has some use teaming with Al Snow in the tag division, if they actually go through with it.  I don't think he should be in singles at this point in time, other than the odd match that most tag wrestlers have to fight by themselves once in a while.

At least it is only a broken bone, and not something serious like a torn ACL or something.

This is bad, as his upward progress towards respectability was making him a bonafide name in the WWF

oh my god!! will the dropkick be allright?

j/k, im not a maven hater. Hopefully he'll use the rehab time to brainstorm for some character development as after tomorrow he wont be able to be the "tough enough guy" character for much longer.

I give Maven credit for finishing the match, especially since he broke it early on, and his fibula, the biggest bone in the body.

Posted

yeah, as someone said, it's better to break his fibula than tear his ACL.  A broken bone heals completely (provided it is set right and hence can mend properly).

Maybe when he comes back he can turn on Al Snow, start talking about himself exclusively in the third person, and shorten his name to "The Mave."

Hell, it worked for milquetoast overpushed babyface Rocky Miavia...(Actually though, I don't consider Maven overpushed, as he hasn't won a major singles title yet.)

Well, that kinda sucks. I'm not a particulary big fan of Maven, in fact, I really don't like him at all. BUT.....it's never good when someone gets injured.....with a few VERY big exceptions. *coughhhhcoughcough*

You are thinking of the femur, which is the large bone that runs from your hip to your kneecap. That is the largest bone in the body.

The fibula is one of two bones that make up the calf/shin area of the leg.

Just an FYI.

That sucks.  I was starting to get into Maven.  I enjoyed him when he teamed Al Snow, and I was sort of looking forward to a Maven-Tajiri feud.  Ah well.

Yeah the Femur is the bone your thinking. That sucka is BIG.

That's too bad. I think  he was in line for an angle with Torrie, too.

That's funny. I was thinking of that a few weeks ago.

I'm not gonna lie, I think Maven sucks a comically oversized double-ended dildo. That said, obviously it sucks to see a guy get hurt. He also must have comically oversized double-ended nuts to finish a match with a broken leg.

And even though he sucks, clearly he was in line for some retarded Test push, so too bad for him.

kind of on-topic, isn't this how RVD got hurt when he vacated the TV title in ecdub?

I know that when I broke my fibula (or tibia, I can't remember which one it was), I couldn't put any weight on it.  Also, since I had a shitty doctor, I was in a cast for 3 months.  I doubt Maven will be in a cast for that long, though, although me may need that much time to rehab.

You forgot the Mave's People's Unibrow!

I wonder how they will transfer Tajiri to another fued working with more experenced people would have helped Maven out too bad about the broken leg

so reading the spoilers it says that Torrie wished Maven luck before the match...I wonder if she told him to "break a leg"....

Looking at my femur, I'm wondering what the hell it would take to break it. It's a big bone but it's also encased in a shitload of muscle. That's why it didn't sound right when someone was saying Maven broke his. I don't think there's any way in hell someone could finish a match with a broken femur. It's a shame Maven got hurt because he may lose the little bit of momentum he had. His Tough Enough fame may not seem like a big deal after his bone heals and I'm damn sure they are going to try to put him into a program with whoever wins this year's contest. I don't think that would be in his best interest.

hey, at least he can get some proper training now, as it was ok to be a green sucka who could only hit a dropkick for about a month, and now he can use this opportunity to learn an actual moveset.  also, anybody else wonder if he will "do a hhh" and come back huge? it really wouldnt surprise me.

Maven needs a heel turn to get away from his "aw shucks I'm so glad to be in the WWF" character.

Any serious ideas on how to pull that off?

Posted

Have Al Snow move in on Torrie. Then Maven can come back and be pissed his teacher took his woman away or something along those lines.  That if he wouldn't have broken his leg Torrie would be his etc etc.

Maven after his injury: I thought that coming to the WWE would be the best thing in my life... and it almost ended my career...

Or some stuff like that... *shrugs*

That "Tough enough" line? I'll bet $100 that Michael Cole uses it, and an extra $25 that it's in context with shilling Tough Enough 2 or 3.
