Guest Y2DAYDAY Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 The word on the street is that the RAW brand and Smackdown brand will both do mini tournies with the RAW and Smackdown finals at the PPV, then the finals with RAW VS SMACKDOWN. And that final match would be D-VON vs Bubba Ray Dudley, based on the angle at the last PPV. Just let me say if this happens, everyone at Titan Towers has lost their FU#$%^& MINDS.
Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 My guess is, the final 2 will be: Test vs Albert One of these two HOSSES~ will be the KOTR. Will it be Test, starting failed Test push #864465, or Albert, setting up failed Albert push #864464?
Guest raptor Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 I think that Bubba Ray/D-Von will meet up in the tourney, but it will be in a quarterfinal type scenario. They usually do more than the finals on the pay-per-view, so their could be more brand vs. band matches.
Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 Why-don't-why-just-book-Test-Vs-Albert-in-the-finals.It-fits-pefectly-with-the-rest-of-the-HORR IBLE-card-that-will-probably-be-booked. So-far-it-looks-like....... HHH-Vs-The-Undertaker Hollywood-Hogan-Vs-Kurt-Angle Austin-Vs-Guerrero(?)(The-only-watchable-match) Looks-like-it's-shaping-up-to-be-one-of-the-best-PPV's-of-the-year. P.S Don't-forget-about-RVD.
Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 RVD is a feasible winner for KOTR..Hell I could even see this guy going through a hell of an angle after winning KOTR and going through the Rumble/Wrestlemania route and keeping the belt for a longass time. He's one of the most likable, charismatic, and watchable stars in the WWF in quite some time. On another note..NaturalBornThriller4:20, I take it your space bar is broken?

Will SOMEONE please tell me what the FUCK a HOSS is? its KILLING me This has been, and still is, the Taker Mark
Guest evenflowDDT Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 A HOSS is a big tough guy who usually just brawls a lot with limited ring skills and usually isn't very fast (unlike real horses) either. At least that's how I always interpreted it. It's a play on JR's Oklahoma/backwoods terms I believe.

He's one of the most likable, charismatic, and watchable stars in the WWF in quite some time. How could RVD win KOTR? I thought the KOTR winner got an IC title shot at SummerSlam as part of the stips? As for Bubba vs. D'von, it wouldn't be that bad of a match-up. Maybe not the greatest, and the two do suffer from the WWE's inability to have a satisfying "break up the legendary tag team" angle since Breat/Owen, but it can't be any worse than King Mabel... always remember that.
Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 Is that what the stips are? By my understanding the KOTR was always a midcarder the WWF wants to bring into the main event mix

Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 y2dayday, how do u know the final? Did some "insider" tell u?
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 "Hollywood-Hogan-Vs-Kurt-Angle" Huh? Wouldn't Hogan be fighting McMahon at KOTR? Wow, that's much worse than Hogan vs Angle. Let's all hope and pray for a good undercard. Save us, cruiserweights!
Guest Human Fly Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 I'll believe the Bubba v. D-Von final when I see it. I think that would be pretty ridiculous. I like D-Von's new gimmick, but seeing him in more then one match in a night is not very appealing. Same for Bubba.
Guest bcu1979 Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 RVD is a feasible winner for KOTR..Hell I could even see this guy going through a hell of an angle after winning KOTR and going through the Rumble/Wrestlemania route and keeping the belt for a longass time. He's one of the most likable, charismatic, and watchable stars in the WWF in quite some time. You just gave three great reasons why the top guys don't want RVD anywhere near that belt. I'd say there's no way the WWE would be stupid enough to make Bubba or D-Von Dudley the KOTR. But I've lost track of how many times I've said "Vince is too smart to make this mistake" or "the WWF would never do something that stupid" in the past two years, only to be proved wrong most every time. The way this company has sabotaged itself time and time again recently you'd think Vince wants to run himself out of business.
Guest cabbageboy Posted June 2, 2002 Report Posted June 2, 2002 I could feasibly see Bubba Ray winning KOTR in an upset thing, but D'Von? Ha! He has a shitty 1991 gimmick from hell and would be a waste of time if he got past the 2nd round of KOTR. I think the Dudleys explode match is in fact a good idea for KOTR in the tourney, but maybe a round of 8 type deal, with the loser costing the winner a slot in the finals. In his recent letters column Keith said it might be Austin/RVD vs. Eddie/Benoit. While that match sounds great it seems like a waste of the guys involved. After all, that is a typical Raw main event, not a PPV match. Is Benoit even ready to wrestle again? I am going to refrain from comment on this show simply because I have no clue what the card is.....I wonder if the WWF even knows. Scary thought.

Are you one of those "pagans", spawn of Satan sent from the depths of Hell personally to disgrace great men of the Lord such as the Reverend D'Von?!

Guest converge241 Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 How could RVD win KOTR? I thought the KOTR winner got an IC title shot at SummerSlam as part of the stips? no, the winner has gotten ic shots (see Edge last year) but it also was world title shots as well (mable) it really technically is supposed to be the final push to the next level. This is a tough year to guess who they would have. I had a feeling when they did that Angle that it might be Dudley vs Dudley. I hope its not though. I think it might be a good match because theyve worked together so long and could plan out a good script (then again maybe not look at Hardy vs Hardy). I just dont see either moving to the top tier, so why waste it.. save it for Summerslam. I think there are a number of guys they could give it to on the Raw side but not the Smackdown side. Edge would be great from SD but: 1) he won it already and 2) hes injured. There's guys id like to see get it on the SD side (christian and Storm) but im trying to be realistic on who WWE would give it to. Best candidates look like Eddy (probably wont be in the tourney and will face Austin), Booker to go full force on the face push, Brock, or my most likey RVD and give him the Vengeance title shot against Taker. How his IC title status would factor? Not sure but maybe Taker or someone can cost him the belt. So Ill say RVD over Brock by DQ in the semis and then RVD over Lance Storm in the final.
Guest buffybeast Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 I'm a big Bubba Ray fan. But I cannot see him as this year's KOTR over another wrestler, like RVD. "Your 2002 KOTR, Bubba Ray Dudley!!!" Nope, can't see it. I think RVD is the most over non-main eventer in the company and could use the famed KOTR push. Of course, Albert would be the best choice for KOTR.
Guest godthedog Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 albert would drop dead from exhaustion if he had to wrestle for more than 10 minutes in a night. looks to me like 'raw' was setting up rvd v. lesnar at KOR. booker's really starting to soak up the cheers too, and he's insisting on being his own character even while he's with the new world older, so he's my pick for king of the ring.
Guest buffybeast Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Albert could go the distance on any night. Hehe. Booker would be the surprise pick to me. I think RVD is the most logical choice right now. Which of course means the WWF will not give the KOTR title to him.
Guest the pinjockey Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Albert could go the distance on any night. Hehe. eww...
Guest goodhelmet Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 i still maintain that the KOR final will be Booker vs. Test. Bothare further along on the push chart than either BuhBuh or D-VOn, in fact I could see the brothers costing each other their slots at the actual ppv, while Booker and Tests advance in the battle of TNT!!!!
Guest Ravenbomb Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 hmm...King Albert...yeah, cause Prince Albert didn't get him over enough...
Guest RetroRob215 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I also can't see Bubba winning the KOTR, but I can see D-Von doing so. Afterwards he would have to expand his clergy, thus making his group more of a threat on SD! which could use some more heels. Personally, I would like RVD or Booker to win the tournament.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 dan's right im calling booker winning imagine the nwo jealousy!
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 The Dudley Boyz should've never broken up in the first place.
Guest Flyboy Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Personally, I would like RVD or Booker to win the tournament. Me too. Throw Lance in there, and those are the 3 most people I want to see win it. Who needs it the most? Probably Lance or Booker... Booker could go with the jealousy angle if he wins it in the NWO, and Lance can get some major heel heat if he wins it. Time will tell.
