Comments that which don't warrant a thread

Recommended Posts

I guess I can add "special needs poster" to the mod complaint, as well as another "retarded reference."

And yeah, quoting the people actually involved in the incident commenting about the incident is useless, I guess. What the primary source of the incident had to say means nothing. I should take what you say more than what either the beauty contestant or Perez Hilton actually said.

Your issue was with him asking the question in the first place, anything he or she said after the fact on his blog or MSNBC is irrelevant, as would be the accompanying youtube videos.

Remember, you're upset because he's a bully who trapped the poor little girl with his evil, unanswerable question. I know it seems silly that I have to remind you of what you're saying, but that's what happens when you post just to stir shit up.

His reaction to the answer shows the bullyness, since he went out of his way to try to humiliate her further after the fact. If he did not want to do that, he could have been much more civil about it. But that has been his behavior pattern all along, which is why I took the stand I did. It was a question she could not answer without something happening, which is why he asked it, and I am happy she responded to it and knocked him down a peg.

She says "I believe we all deserve equality", and who exactly get's outraged? No one in America, no one taken seriously at least, is gonna be outraged by suggesting we're all equal. Probably because it's what this country was founded on.

She didn't knock him down a peg, she gave an answer that gave him the platform to go on a public tirade and in the process make himself more noticed. If anything, she bumped him up a few pegs. Bully's don't get quiet when you say something they disagree with, they immediately be mean to belittle what you've said. He didn't, he shut up like a good little boy and let the natural disappointment grow until he got home later on and went online, to HIS blog. He didn't say "oh yeah well you smell!" and give her an indian burn like you seem to think.

You're right, he called her two derogatory names, which was worse. And he did on national TV in addition to his blog. He couldn't get mad on NBC because they would not have aired it. But MSNBC and his blog are different platforms, domains where he could easily be a bully, and he was.

He could have still shown restraint on MSNBC and put this to rest. Or pursue it with some dignity. But he chose not too. He didn't want to. That was my point all along. NBC had some fault, but this starts and stops with Hilton.

He's a blogger with pink hair who's famous for knowing Paris Hilton and talking about other people. Dignity isn't in his vocabulary, NBC was beyond aware of that fact, they were actually banking on it.

And no, that wasn't your point all along. That's why it's nowhere to be found in your first post. What's there is some shit about her putting him in his place.

She did, and he proved her right by the way he reacted. When you started calling my opinion "shit" (I think it is the third time you've done so) I brought up the NBC issue a couple of posts later to go further with my point. She is the one who has shown class through this whole thing, right from the start.

But I've said my piece, and I am moving on. If you want to keep going, then go right on ahead. See if some other people will weigh in and agree or disagree with you.

Saying things don't make them true. When you keep saying the same thing without backing it up, it becomes the literary version of shit. Useless and potentially harmful.

How did she put him in his place? Please, just actually try and explain that one phrase. What is his place, when was he removed from it, and in what way did she put him in that place again. It's easy to do if you're not just saying shit to get a reaction.

He asked a question with the intention of creating a mess given his reputation, and instead of her rolling over and giving an answer to appease him, she told him what she thought and answered it. To which he promptly retreated back to the immature behavior that gave him his bad reputation to start with. He's a sleaze from a blog, asked a question that was meant to expose her as a sleaze on national TV, and promptly ended up looking like a sleaze everywhere else as a result when he overreacted to the response, both on and off the stage. She ended up looking like the better of the two, right from the start.

I've been saying this for 20 posts now. And you've treated me with nothing but contempt. What evidence have you brought to the table, other than your name calling? I don't believe anything you have said is true, it has just been your opinion. You disagree with me, fine. But to say that what I've mentioned as shit when I have tried to explain my position is yet another example of your very rude behavior. Name calling does not strengthen your argument. It demeans it and makes it sound petty. You cannot hold a conversation with me, because you are too busy insulting me to see my point. I've moved on. You need to let it go.

Ugh. As part of my modatorial duties, I had to read all that shit. Thanks for murdering thirty minutes of my life, guys. I could've been doing something far more productive, like jerking off to lesbian bondage porn.

1. Nutsy, cool it with the personal insults

2. Karc, there is no giant Gay Agenda which is out to fuck the common man in the ass (metaphorically speaking)

3. Perez Hilton is a gossip writer, and therefore only slightly more reputable than pedophiles, Nazis, and telemarketers

4. Two whole pages of argument over a question asked at a god-damned beauty pageant? (And not even Miss America, but Miss USA?) Beauty pageants are some of the most inane bullshit to ever grace a television set. There are episodes of Viva La Bam! with more intellectual content than your average pageant. It's stupid consumerist conformist hypocracy, none of these anorexic young women should be "role models" for anyone, and you both look like fools for producing so much fucking text over one of these things.

Um....

That should explain the second half of your post. I'm too busy "insulting" you because you've yet to actually define that one sentence. He's a blogger who's gotten a ton of exposure as a result, so please, what is his place, when was he removed, how did she put him back? Maybe starting the answers with those questions would help? Call an old teacher and ask for help if you must. Forget trying to tell me how a gay guy with pink hair who's done nothing but talk shit on a website is a bully or how a girl shut him up when he hasn't been quiet since. Just three questions, very simple.

Jingus, beauty pageants are like the 240823th gayest thing ever discussed here.

So what does everyone think of Conan on the T.S. so far? I'm happy that he's still himself, and I felt like I was still watching Late Night in a new studio.

After just seeing Volver and having seen every film that he has done in the last 20 years, I have to just go ahead and say it. Pedro Almodóvar is the best fucking director alive and the best one in modern cinema. There. I put it out there.

I will only accept critisizm of Atame and Kinka. Besides that you will love his films, rather you like it or not.

I'll criticize "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" all I want. It was decent at best and if I want to watch a movie like that then I'll put in post-"Pink Flamingos" John Waters.* At least Antonio Banderas was good in it.

*-I'll never want to watch a movie like that.

He's a chemist/scientist so of course he was a nerd.

The fact that the baddies always lock him in a dumpster/freezer/bomb etc and leave him, instead of shooting him is a bit contrived

Chum Lee makes 25 grand an episode for Pawn Stars. Not a bad gig.

I'm kind of annoyed watching those Storage Wars type of shows - not just for the staged merchandise, but from the characters always harping over how they need a score - while getting paid a nice sum for being on TV regardless.
