Announcers for Heat

Well it looks like the announcer spot for Heat is on heavy rotation, experimenting on who wants to be an announcer.  Raven has been the best announcer so far but his charisma and verbal ability put the other announcers to shame, so using WWF logic they put him in the ring.

This week had Jackie and it is apperant that the WWF has no clue what to do with her, she was decent as a wrestler and average as a ref but as an announcer she was possibly the worst ever since......the Hudson & Anderson team.  Well it could be worst Bradshaw, could be the announcer next week, staring at Coach the whole hour, drinking cheap beer.

If WWF must have a wrestler as the person to keep Coach looking good on Heat who should it be?  Maybe bring back a former champ like HBK, Hart, or Henning as the Heel announcer to keep Coach quite.  Joel Gertner would be perfect for Heat or Velocity as the Heel announcer but his skills are levels beyond Coach, so it won't happen.  The new announcer will most likely be somebody like from Tough Enough, like Big John or Ivory since they are using WWF logic.

If they don't have a replacement with Coach, why not keep the revolving door going. Each week have a 'Guest Commentator' or something? How hard is it to get someone to come out for an hour and call a few matches. No matter whio it is, they cant be worse than Jacqueline was. Week after week have a different 'superstar' call the action with Coach, and if it clicks...keep THAT person on.

Foley is never* coming back.

* Using the Wrestling Sliding Scale, "never" can be translated into either "6 months from now" or "when the WWE writers have run out of ideas... :0

As for seconding Coach, how about rotating different midcard wrestlers each week, but only if they're competent. I could see Goldust doing one week, maybe Stevie Richards...

Eh. I couldn't care less who they have in the booth. I watch it for the wrestling anyway (not that there's much to talk about there, judging from this past weekend)...

Edit: Must learn to type faster than Bif...

I do not want to see Foley as a commentator.  He would be boring and dated, IMO.

I like the idea of the revolving guest commentator slot.

How bout they hire the Brain, and use him for Heat and Raw.

I bet the chemistry between the Brain and JR would be classic.

Oh the hilarity

Keep in mind, though, that most of the commentary for Heat is done post-production. They only do the intros at the arena, and ususally a few other things. If they had a guest commentator every week, they would have to fly someone to Stamford every week. -Jim

I'm all for the idea of the rotating spot, since they can't keep Raven. Which sucks.

And it would be mighty, mighty awesome were Foley to come back, even if it was for the announcing spot. I'd enjoy it thoroughly.

he can't announce and eat stupid crap off of the ground.  it might ruin his big push.

Is Foley still doing that Robot show?  Mick Foley would be funny doing commentary during the Hardcore matches.

DDP is a Smackdown wrestler so there would have to be a trade.....Bradshaw = DDP.

Regal would be on the top of the list for the regular spot on Heat.  Regal has been successful as the Commish and did the classic Hulkamania promo.

Why did they stop using Raven, anyway?

As for Jackie ... she was great, but in the way that she made me laugh unintentionally.  I mean, sometimes she didn't say anything for long stretches, and when she did it was usually something like, "Oh!  A punch!"  I also loved how she was pronouncing "there" and "der."

And Coach was laughing at some bizarre things.

"I'm sure you know a thing or two about going toe-to-toe, right, Jackie?"

"Ohhh, you know it, Coach."

"HAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Maybe it's an inside joke.

Remembering as best as I can, here's some of the more wonderful Jackie-talk:

JUSTIN CREDIBLE (?) GETS LOW-BLOWED:

- "Ooooh ... right in the money spot!"

D-LO JUMPS OUTSIDE TO ATTACK THE BIG SHOW AND SCREWS UP:

- "What a dumb move by D-Lo!  Go get 'em, D-Lo!"

MIDWAY THROUGH ANY MATCH OF THE EVENING:

- "What a match ... what a match!"

They did the same thing with Monday Night RAW in late '93, with among other wrestlers, Bastion Booger.
