Guest Risk Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 There is no question that several people in the WWE should under no reason have a job there. Who do YOU think doesn't deserve a job with the WWE? Who do YOU think is a waste of money to keep? Who do YOU think is undeserving? This isn't just restricted to wrestlers, it can be anyone who has a job to the WWE. Be specific in your choices.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Big Bossman Crash Holly Steven Richards Jacqueline Justin Credible Haku Funaki Albert Godfather Mark Henry Big Show These are really the only ones. You could fire any of these guys and noone would notice they were gone, with maybe the exception of Big Show. I only listed him there, because he is getting a huge paycheck guaranteed for like the next 7 years and he isn't worth it.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I still have no idea why Big Show is still gainfully employed.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 They're paying Big Show in the ballpark of 1 Million per annum...may i ask *WHY*? Mark Henry, how i hate you...so very very much. Big Bossman is worthless, as is the Godfather. I dont agree with Bobo on Richards & Credible, they are both good talents if you ask me, and if used correctly, they can benefit the WWE to some interesting extents. And Jesus Christ, fire Albert... This has been the Old School Taker Mark
Guest Flyboy Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 And Jesus Christ, fire Albert... Don't let buffy hear you say that!
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I wouldn't cut much of anyone. Pretty much everyone on TV now at least has some sort of purpose, though I could do without Tommy Dreamer eating his own fake vomit. My question: Risk, why do you have such an obsession with cutting the roster? Seriously, I think you start a new thread about it every other day. It's a fair topic of discussion, but why, why so often? Opinions don't change so much over 48 hours.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Maven, Nidia, Jackie, & Linda for starters. Mark Henry, Albert, Jerry Lawler, Terri Runnels, Debra, Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler, Bradshaw.
Guest razazteca Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Haku? is this the same person who went by Meng? he's on tv? my list: Terri Nadia from Tough Enough Godfather Jerry Lawler Coach Michael Cole JR
Guest the pinjockey Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Opinions don't change so much over 48 hours. I don't know after Raw I certainly feel like firing Gerwitz. Piss jokes, puke jokes, and skank whore Terri rolling around in the ring does not really interest me. The only consistently funny skit is Booker and Golddust and that is more the character making the scene rather than the writing making the character. I typically like most types of low brow humor but the key is to make it funny.
Guest Invader3k Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 They really need to ease off of the sophomoric (sp?) humor and slowly ease out of the Attitude Era...there's been some really good wrestling lately on TV, and I'm willing to bet that has more to do with the 4.1 rating RAW got than people intrigued by seeing Austin peeing on Arn Anderson at the start of the show. The WWE slowly needs to find where it's going as a wrestling promotion, and what the next big boom in wrestling is going to be started by. If they just avoid trying to do a lot of hot shotting and try to write decent TV and book good matches, while building up their next crop of stars, the big boom they're looking for will happen eventually.
Guest Risk Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 If I get a lot of replies, this will be the last thread. Bossman Crash Justin Credible Steven Richards Big Show Test Stephanie McMahon Jacqueline Nidia Haku Funaki Albert Godfather Mark Henry Terri Michael Cole Jerry Lawler Tommy Dreamer Maven Debra Bradshaw Gerwitz Pat Patterson Steve Lombardi
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 get rid of terri, only keep the actually attractive or talented women. for the men, get rid of bossman, haku, and pretty much everyone else who isnt on tv right now and not on a developmental deal.
Guest TheAnvil Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Rikishi Nidia Maven Terri Bossman X-Pac
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 just Haku, Maven, Bossman, Albert, and Debra. Terri is not bad at all, damnit. heh
Guest papacita Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Fire Michael Cole and replace him with Urkel. Ratings will go through the roof. Gerwitz...if he's responsible for the dog poop stuff, get the F out, and send him with it. And anybody who works for WWE.com. I've really grown to despise those people over the past few years.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 X-Pac What the hell for? X-Pac *IS* talented, and i don't see any point in relieving him from his duties in the company. I'm sure if he were a face and heel kicking Hogan's ass every week, you'd be thinking differently. This has been the Taker Mark™ P.S Love the signature Papcita!
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 For starters, just because I don't particularly care for a guy or gal, it doesn't mean they don't deserve to be in the company. That being said, my list is rather short. Michael Cole - God, what a crappy announcer. I see people putting Lawler/JR/Coach on their list. That, I don't quite understand. They may not be amazing announcers, or know the names of all of the moves, but when they put their minds to it, they can call a match decently. Michael Cole on the other hand... I have a theory they leave him out of any sort of meetings and watch him from the back whilst giggling in delight. The man has botched simple things, such as calling "the steel stairs" a "steel chair", or calling a snapmare a suplex. I really cannot remember the last time I heard something redeeming from him. Someone out there MUST be worth hiring instead of him. Haku - Where the hell IS he anyways? All headbutts, no TV time, no mic skills besides his random grunting, and I can't see him helping out anyone in the ring. He was just hired to take a shot at WCW by taking away their hardcore champ, but now that they own WCW... And really, that's about it. Everyone else serves some sort of purpose or fills some role (even though many of these roles are rather craptacular).
Guest Sakura Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Why does Justin Credible have a job? When was the last time he did anything worthwhile? The dude is uber lame so I can understand not pushing him, but why keep him around?
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 They are holding Credible down by not letting him do his old finishing maneuver :sarcasm: Seriously, the guy will never do anything in the WWE.
Guest buffybeast Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 And Jesus Christ, fire Albert... Don't let buffy hear you say that! I already read that. Really, it is so easy to say I'd fire this person or I'd fire that person. But the vast majority of you all haven't given concrete reasons as to why you'd fire anyone. Just listing a name is silly. Back up your opinions with facts, please.
Guest Risk Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Albert isn't over, has little wrestling talent, is named after a dick piecing, his look sucks, fans don't care what he does, PROBABLY will never be over, and his matches are boring. Hey, if you find him attractive Buff, more power to you, but I'm looking at this from a fan's AND a promoter's perspective.
Guest buffybeast Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Albert isn't over, has little wrestling talent, is named after a dick piecing, his look sucks, fans don't care what he does, PROBABLY will never be over, and his matches are boring. Hey, if you find him attractive Buff, more power to you, but I'm looking at this from a fan's AND a promoter's perspective. The Rock was not over five years ago. People thought his wrestling sucked, hated his name, the fans hated him with a passion and wanted him gone from their tvs, and thought he'd never be over. And look where he is today. Albert has tons of potential. He wrestles a very effective big man style. You can't compare him to RVD or the likes. But compare him to a big man and you will see his wrestling is not bad. Sure, the fans don't care about him. But how much of that is the company's fault and how much of that is his fault? He can't control the feuds/programs he's involved in or the fact that he has a sucky name. And I challenge you Risk to say his matches with Kane last year were boring. They were not to many people. So if you look at things my way, you'd see that Albert was a special wrestler who has the seeds to make it big in wrestling with a little work and TLC from the company.
Guest Sakura Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I totally agree with Risk. Besides all the stuff mentioned, the only thing he has going for him is his status as a "monster" and they already have like 6 monsters on the roster. The man is totally worthless. Not to mention he looks nasty.
Guest Sakura Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Rock sucked for less than a year, Albert has been stinking it up for years. It's going to be real hard to get him over with a new name and what not when he has had such a lame gimmick for so long. They already have enough big men and monsters. It's true he can't control his name but he has been given several pushes. Just last year he went over Kane for the IC title after Kane had beat HHH at a ppv. He totally failed to get over. Ross has shilled him relentlessly and he still fails to get over. Nobody buys him. He looks and sounds like a dumbass.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 ..am I the only one that thinks the entire 'monster' gimmick is getting stupid? Somebody comes out, kills a few jobbers (Crash, Funaki, then the Hardys, in that order..), and comes out, using nothing but power moves (Gorilla Press/Slam, Powerbomb), and they expect him to get over? It's useless, I say. To get somebody over, you have to give the fans a reason to -care-. And that's why guys like Albert (want me to name more?) won't ever get over. At least, until the creative staff gets a brain transplant. -Shiro
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 As far as firings go, I'll even give reasons for wrestlers/personnel people have posted in this thread. Men Big Bossman - No real reason he's there except to work Heat. Completely out of place in this day and time. Too slow, old moveset, turns off more than a few viewers. Crash - Cruiser sized guy trying to wrestle heavyweights. Can't do anything outside of a comedy/"hardcore" style, and pretty much just sucks. His only real usefulness was as a tag partner for Hardcore. Steven Richards - I like Steven, so I'll leave him alone. Justin Credible - Hasn't shown any real reason to be in the fed, except for being X-pac's little buddy. Not very good without a finisher that's a piledriver (to make up for the *yawn* moveset, no doubt.) Over-rated among ECW fans. Dosen't have 'the look' Haku - Brought in to make a jab at WCW. Tried pushing him as a heel, but nobody really cared. See Bossman - Completely out of place in this day and time. Funaki - He's fine, just not given an oppertunity to do anything except be a comedy wrestler. Or eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil. Albert - He's a big, scary..MONSTER..*yawn* overpushed, undertalented for the ammount of push he's recieved. If they'd pushed somebody like Booker or RVD that hard. Sorry, but there are more talented big guys on the roster (Lesnar, Kane) Godfather - Without the 'attitude' gimmick, he's nothing. Slow, stale moveset. Nobody cares about him without the ho's. Mark Henry - Sad case here. I read where he'd lost quite a bit of weight down in OVW, and they made him gain it all back. I'd send him back down, get rid of it, and drop this "World's Strongest Man" nonsense. Big Show - Another MONSTER people are supposed to care about. His many flip/flops from face to heel have erased what little credibility he's had to begin with. Slower than anybody except possibly Hogan. Big Evil Heel gimmick is extremely outdated. (See Albert) Tommy Dreamer - Sorry, ECW marks, but this hair-chewing, vomiting maniac has to go. Put him backstage, and off my TV. Too broken-down to be of much use. Test - Test isn't that bad, for a guy his size. He's just the Smarks' Anti-Christ next to HHH. He's got more potential than Show or Albert, and is easier on the eyes. Maven - I've actually came around on Maven. He's not that bad, but should not be winning belts anytime soon. Oh, and shave the eyebrows. Bradshaw - Still comes off as half a tag team. Reunite the APA, or job him. X-Pac - The bane of my existance. This "ratty little sucka" (Booker Rules.) does nothing to deserve the airtime he gets, much less the air he breathes. He's a shadow of what he used to be, and is being kept around because of who he knows. Goodbye. Women Terri - Can't wrestle worth a lick. Her looks depend on people's taste, but like somebody else said, you could play xylophone on her ribs. Disgusting. Jacqueline - Decent women's wrestler, but please leave her off the mic. Nidia, Jackie, Linda - Haven't seen any of these except for TE, but it's OVW time. Debra - Not doing much harm at the moment, so she's safe. Keeps out of the ring, and only on TV occasionally. Torrie/Stacy - These two can surely improve in the ring. If Trish did, and she had no wrestling ability when she came in, then these should be able to as well. Non-wrestlers Lawler - Annoying parrot. Occasionally spouts off a good one-liner, but his constant cries of "Puppies!" and perverted jokes are only funny the first five or six times out of five million. JR - He's about as bad as Lawler now. Hick animal references and cries of "Why, (insertnamehere), WHY?" and "BY GAWD" are nerve-grating. Michael Cole - I just don't think he's got what it takes to be an announcer. Has no visible play-by-play skills, and screams too much. His voice is decent when it's at a normal tone, though. Pat Patterson / Steve Lombardi - Not on my TV, and I see no visible effects. There are more, but I'm out of time right now. -Shiro
Guest buffybeast Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Albert only looks slightly bad when he hasn't shaved his back in a while, like on last week's Velocity. But when his back is smooth, he looks better. Ok I do agree that the black trunks thing does not suit him well. Albert got a positive fan reaction when he was Droz' piercings expert. The fans cheered/booed then. So that tells me that the potential to be over is there. And as for the company already having lots of monster big men, who? Kane, Big Show, Nash, Test, Taker. Please help me if I left someone out. But that doesn't seem like a lot to me. Especially when considering Taker and Nash blow chunks.
Guest Sakura Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Albert always looks "slightly" bad. Even when fully clothed he looks terrible. The man has more fun than Kuma. I do not remember Albert or Droz ever getting heat. Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Nash, Test are big men. Then there's guys like Rhyno, Awesome, BROCK~!, Rikishi, Chris Jericho, ect. who are often billed as monsters. That's at least 6 or 7 guys at a time. Plenty of hosses. In this day and age the only need for a "oh my gawd this man is a monster" wrestler is for those lame punishment matches that EVIL owners make Austin and other faces have when they're bored of handicap matches.
