Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 If you would like to contribute additional detailed Smackdown! spoilers for us, please send it to [email protected]. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 6/4/02 Report by: Dirk Hildebrand, rajahwwf.com reader Just got back from the Smackdown tapings in OKC, I may have forgot a few things, but hears the high points Dark Match Albert d. Prototype- Heard alot about Prototype, but wasn't that impressed. Of course he was wrestling Albert who beat him in a Squash Velocity Big pop for Al Snow, head chant Test d Randy Orton-Decent match, Test gets the win on his new finisher, not sure what he calls it. Chavo d Funaki- Crowd not in the match at all. Chavo gets the win Godfather defeats Hugh Morrus-New look for the Godfather, crowd chanted for ho's but got none. Looks like they are trying to make him a heel again. Linda vs Ivory- Linda gets screwed by Jackie who pushes her off the top rope to give Ivory as easy win. Al Snow comforts Linda at the end, raises her hand, and the crowd boos lol. I think they made the wrong girl face. JR comes out and sucks up to the Oklahoma crowd. Sooner born, sooner breed, blah blah, give me a gun. Smackdown Like 20 wrestlers are introduced in a row, all the big names, and Vince then comes out and announces that there will be a 20 man battle Royal, with the winner becoming number one contender. 20 man Battle Royal The field quickly gets narrowed down to Hogan and Triple H. Great pops for these two all night. They both fall simeltaneously to the ground. They both hop in the ring, and decide to do it again. Same thing happens. One ref declaring a different one the winner. Vince comes in and asks the crowd who they would rather see take on the Undertaker. Triple H and Hogan both get good reactions, but Vince says it won't let a bunch of Hokie Okies decide, and they will fight it out in the main event. Kurt cuts a promo about getting screwed again, by someone sneaking up behind him. Bob Holly (who eliminated Kurt0 walks up, and the two decide they will settle their differences in the ring. Chuck and Billy are shown backstage with Rico. Rico tells them they have let themselves go. They claim it's because their stylist doesn't have time for them anymore. They say if they don't win the tag titles tonight, they will have to find a new stylist. Chuck and Suck d Rico and Rikishi-Chuck and Suck recapture the title with help from Rico, He gives Rikishi and Super kick to help his boys. Hurricane finds a note on a cooler, something about a witch riding in on a broom, but they didn't show anything else about it the rest of the night? Maybe they will add something later Torrie visits Maven in the hospital, and does some oral incenuations with a banana. They later show Maven with a goofy look on his face and his arms behind his head. Tajiri comes in, spits the green mist in Torrie face, throws Maven to the ground and kicks him. TAJIRI RULES! Val Venis d Christain in KOTR qualifying match. Decent match, I would have rather seen Christain move on, but oh well. Edge comes out and cuts a promo about his injury in last weeks match against Angle. Talks about doing the spear off the turnbuckle, and says, "would I do it again?" Says he would. Talks about his love for the business, and that he will have to have surgery, and won't be able to return for awhile. Jericho then interupts him, says he is tired of listening to him whine, and insists that he raise his hand in victory since he has to forfeit their King of the Ring match. Edge attacks Jericho, Jericho then beats Edge on the outside of the ring, uses the stairs and a Chair, Val Venis comes out and chases off Jericho. Dvon comes out and cuts a promo on us all being masterbators, pretty funny stuff here. Faroqq comes out and says he does, and is damn proud of it. Farooq d Dvon. Quick match, I don't see the point of pushing Dvon with promo time, and having him lose a match in this fashion, more ignorant WWE booking. Storm cuts a promo on Kidman not having any charisma Lance Storm d Billy Kidman Good match, just to short. Triple H d Hulk Hogan- Pretty good match considering it involved Hogan. The crowd was really into it. Triple H kicks out of the leg drop to later pedigree Hogan for the win. After the match Hogan calls Trips back in the ring, and says he would be glad to shake the hand of the better man. Triple H does, and then the do Hogan poses for the crowd. Angles music hits and he makes his way to the ring. The Undertaker then comes from the crowd, and they beat down Hogan and Triple H. I think the rest was after the show was done, they were still taping so I'm not real sure. Undertaker talks Angle into going back down to the ring, puts his headband on Kurt, pretty funny. Triple H, takes out the Undertaker, sending him over the ropes. Leaving Kurt for Hogan and Triple H, Kurt recieves the pedigree and leg drop, then Triple H pulls his pants down, and HOgan rips off the wig, exposing his bald head. He looks pretty good bald actually. The Undertaker comes back down with a towell for Kurt to cover himself, and the show is over. It was an alright show, and I may have left out a few things. I had fun, don't know how it will come off on TV. Look for a Mae Young=ratings sign I was sitting in the forth row to the left of the announcers.
Guest Shadow Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Actually sounds like an alright-show, seems like there will be a few good matches on there. I like the Jericho-Edge angle, pushes Jericho as a real asshole, but now he's basically in a program with Val freaking Venis till their KOTR tournament match at the PPV, bleh. If Val beats Jericho at KOTR, there is truely no justice in this world. And come to think of it- why the fuck would Jericho care about the KOTR Tournament when he's the first-ever Undisputed Champion? Way to give your characters motivation, WWeeee.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Just want to point out that the number of "stars" that hold jobs over HHH is now down to 2. He somehow managed to collect his job from Hogan en route to collecting his job from Taker. Most impressive. How long after Kane comes back before we see HHH get that one back too?
Guest alfdogg Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Nice to see Hunter getting his jobs back from UT AND Hogan. EDIT: Just wanted to point out that I posted this BEFORE seeing bps' post.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Boy, so much for Faarooq having an easy retirement with little shame. Yeah, we know everyone does it, but we DON'T SAY IT! Even stupider is the idea of the esteemed Reverend D-von starting the subject. WHAT ABOUT THE HURRI-MYSTERY???
Guest alfdogg Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I'll probably watch the battle royal and then turn it off.
Guest Flyboy Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Well, guess I'm not watch Smackdown! then. I haven't watched it in two weeks... don't think I'll start. I might watch it to where Jericho beats down Edge. Oh, and to see Lance Vs. Kidman... I thought that was a cool tag team in WCW. EDIT: corrected myself from looking like a jackass thanks to bps
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 LAnce beats Kidman. Also your sig still needs fixing...as there are 3 members
Guest goodhelmet Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Just want to point out that the number of "stars" that hold jobs over HHH is now down to 2. He somehow managed to collect his job from Hogan en route to collecting his job from Taker. Most impressive. How long after Kane comes back before we see HHH get that one back too? Would one of those include D'von? Oh well, while bps boycotts ppv, I'll boycott any SD! in which Trips is main eventing. Christian-Val may be ok but not one match seemed to be close to the quality of the RAW main events in the last couple of weeks.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Dvon isnt a star...neither is Test. He only jobs to lower midcard guys (and its always before a big win). Jericho beat him once...and lost to him 3 times. Rock beat him a couple times...but lost more. Benoit, Austin, Foley...0 for the century. Since HHH became a world champion in August 99... the only uppermidcard/main event guys that hold more victories over him than he has are Hogan (not anymore), Taker (wrestling at KOTR) and Kane (injured).
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 oh...and Booker has a roll up win on Raw (just before HHH won the title at Mania...thus fitting the pattern). If and when Booker gets up to uppermidcard status...he will be avenged too.
Guest bcu1979 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 That battle royal does not sound promising. Why not just do Hogan and Triple H in the first place? Instead, everyone else gets thrown in there and from the sounds of the spoilers gets thrown right back out to put the focus on a nostalgia act and Stephanie's boyfriend. And it's good to see young, new talent being elevated by Hogan in his latest farewell tour. I wouldn't mind a Jericho/Venis feud if Venis had been built up strong in the last couple weeks. But he was jobbing to D-Von just last week. There's no sense of planning whatsoever. At least it's a step up from Mark Henry though. Best case scenario: Jericho wins KOR and goes on to feud with Edge when he returns. And it's already been mentioned but I hope they did some kind of skit with Jericho and Vince to at least explain why Jericho is in the KOR tournament. They could say that KOR is the only "title" Jericho has not won during his WWE stay. Worst case scenario: Jericho and Venis cost each other their second preliminary KOR match and wrestle on Heat before KOR. And Test wins the Smackdown side of the brackets. There is another round before the PPV, right? Storm cutting a promo on Kidman having no charisma is just really crappy, shortsighted booking. It's obvious Michael Cole will scream about Storm not having any charisma either 100 times during the match and you're just pointing out flaws in the guys you are supposedly trying to push for the future.
Guest goodhelmet Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 true, but i thought you were implying wrestlers who had beaten him period and have not returned the job. Hell, let's go back to '96 for the hell of it and cheer the Warrior's 1 minute squash of THE GAME! on that note, don't you think Trips is pressing for Helliwig's return so he can get back that job as well???
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 no. it only counts since his rise to "power"
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Triple H is the number one contender........I'll try my hardest to contain my excitement.. There goes Dreamer mark's idea for a Taker-Dreamer main event at KOTR, a match *I* would much prefer to see... Hey..maybe Triple H will tear his quad again! This has been the Taker Mark
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 This is really kinda creeping me out..but..what the h e l l is Triple H's obsession with pulling Kurt's pants down? This is what, two, three times in a row? o_o I don't even want to think about the implications of that. -Shiro
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 HHH is probably looking for some free "advice" from Angle about the best place to insert the needle...
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 No Stacy, No Dawn? Damnit! Oh, I thought Hurricane's Stalker was supposed to be revealed this week?
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Ad come to think of it- why the fuck would Jericho care about the KOTR Tournament when he's the first-ever Undisputed Champion? Way to give your characters motivation, WWeeee. Not necessarily. I think having Jericho in the KotR adds more prestige to it. Bret Hart won the '93 KotR after his first World Title reign in '92. If Jericho wins it, this could be his stepping stone BACK into the Main Event. But then again, that's probably just wishful thinking on my part.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 No Stacy, No Dawn? Damnit! Oh, I thought Hurricane's Stalker was supposed to be revealed this week? Well GOOD NEWS, they added a Dawn and Stacy segment, and The Hurristalker being revealed, and they must have thought twice about the Dvon Faarooq match, cause they didnt show it. The Tajiri segments are hillarious btw as well.
