Guest TheDames7 Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Well, when asked on Byte This about the name change from WWF to WWE, Vince said that they needed to change the name due to a court order but they are filing for an appeal. He doesn't like the WWE name as much as the WWF name but there's not they can do about it right now. My question to all of you is...what do you think would happen if they win the appeal and are able to keep the WWF name after all? Dames
Guest Sakura Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 They probably expect to lose. If by some chance they do win, I am guessing they will keep it.
Guest HartFan86 Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Kevin asked Vince if he felt he was defeated by the World Wildlife Fund? Vince said that he likes the WWF name better, but he hasn't conceited defeat yet since it's still under appeal. It was a way that they can move on very quickly with who they are and be done with it. They've been battling these guys for such a long time and maybe they'll ultimately win it, but who knows. If they win, I mark out like never before.
Guest Redhawk Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Can you imagine the RAW after they change it back. After all of the "Same name, new attitude," and all of those "Get the F out" t-shirts and ads, it'd be funny to see them act like it never happened. Would they be saying, "Get the F back," or what?
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 They can do an invasion angle where the "F" shows up and gets thrown out by security, while JR acts like "BAH GOD! HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!" but he keeps showing up and assembles a faction of wrestlers, who announce themselves as the FWO. Soon Vince, announces a match for naming rights, with E vs. F, with F winning do to a suprise run in from the old W. Honestly I don't know what they'd do, because it'd make them look like dopes, but yeah it'd be cool to be WWF again!
Guest What?! Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 I think they'd just mention "WWF" and pretend it was never WWE at all. Or they just make a whole bunch of "Get The F In" T-Shirts and start yet another campaign.

I can see it now...that old lady starts planting a new WWE bush in front of her house, notices something's missing and adds an F by setting it on fire. WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION: THE F IS BACK! That would make a cool T-shirt....or F THE PANDAS. lol
Guest Risk Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 I'm pretty sure the Fund will win. Vince is playing the "babyface" in this whole thing, like he did against WCW. Vince is the family owned business man going up against THE UNSTOPIBLE BILLIONAIRE OF DOOM~! In Vince's quest for power he has become the one thing he always fought against: a snobby billionaire. Billionaire Vince. Heh.
Guest TheDames7 Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 I can see the WWE logo, then something happens when the F is added, then erased, then added, then erased...then added and then the voiceover guy goes "Oh....F it" Dames

Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 They blatantly broke the agreement with the world wildlife fund, the WWFund owns the rights to the name. I can't imagine how Vince is going to get them back. I wouldn't be surprised if he just gives the WWFund so much legal fees that they go backrupt and shut down.... What a saint.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted June 9, 2002 Report Posted June 9, 2002 I still don't get why they didn't just change it to WWFE instead of WWE...
Guest evenflowDDT Posted June 9, 2002 Report Posted June 9, 2002 There's no doubt about that, but I had to chime in with one of those patented "what if/why didn't" posts.
Guest Posted June 9, 2002 Report Posted June 9, 2002 It would happen just as I am getting used to WWE. I am sure I could get use to the WWF again but I have grown found of the WWE. JR: (on RAW) The E can go to hell! This World Wrestling FEDERATION RAW and we are LIVE! or MC: (on SD!) On a night where the WWF told the WWE to go to hell, we have decided to F it right here on SD and will HHH "F" Jericho once again in our main event!?
