Guest ManKinnd Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 This statement was just so ridiculous, I felt I had to share: Today in class we had a free day, so my friend suggested we watch a tape of WWE he had on him (how convenient) which had the Raw with the ladder match and the SD! with the cage match. I said to the class, "We can watch Angle and Edge in a cage or RVD and Eddy with a ladder." My God the statement made next by a fellow classmate was this: "Edge is OK, but Angle sucks. RVD and Eddy are both terrible. Why don't we watch something good? Is there a Hogan match on one of those shows?" Is there anything I can really say to this? Let me know what you think.

The closet thing I can thing of to compare that to would be the Middle East and the U.S' views of each other's culture. Where as, Hogan's workrate would be equal to that of living in caves. And Angle and Edge in a steel cage would be equal to that of economic conquest.

I have a few friends who watch wrestling, not as much as me, and they all act like marks. Plus, their all in their 20's, mind you. Me being a "smark" on the net is one of my "best kept' secerts."

Well, once I got in an argument with this drunk man on the bus who was saying Hulk Hogan was better than Michaels. The man was comical... "Hulk Hogan is the greatest of all...(falls asleep)...TIME! He could beat...(falls asleep)...AND YOU GOTTA BE A LEADER! (falls asleep)...THE HITMAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!! (falls asleep)" WHOOOO that was funny. Anyway, I've said before, as much as I like good wrestling, I don't pay too much attention to workrate, so it's not much of a problem for me. But I dohave to set those Hogan marks straight from time to time.

I guess wrestling has become more accepted since i graduated, but still I think you'd have a hard time getting people to agree to watch it. And why does it make you mad that he likes Hogan more than the other guys? He watches what he likes just as you do. Since when is that wrong?
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 What I find funny (and I'm not directing this towards anyone here in particular) is that people will complain about guys who think that Hogan is good and RVD sucks, and yet many of these same people will get mad if you say the Star Wars movies are shitty. They have no problem comparing a Benoit match to a Hogan match based on workrate, but if you compare AOTC to Godfather, you are somehow being unfair and not "enjoying it for what it is". Same can be said for music: I've seen these puro fans over at DVD that think punk is best kind of music.

Because Hogan doing his tired act at age 48 while being unable to actually move at more than a light jogging pace is not good, it's bad. Anyone who likes it would be better suited watching him before he was bald and a senior citizen anyway, so why bother?

As for the watching porn in school comment, we actually did that once. There was a science fair thing, and my friend managed to convince the principal of a "sensory measurement" experiment by having a roomful of people, male and female, watch pornography (but how did he put it... photographs? something like that...). Of course, when the teacher found out what the experiment, she was PISSED! Last year near the end of the school year we played a lot of DDR. Now there's graduation practice... how hard can it be to walk across a stage?!
