Guest Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 I was over at Smash Wrestling when I saw that the main headline was that tickets are on sale for an upcoming WCW event in Lakelands, Florida on Friday 12th July 2002. At Ticketmaster.com they have details for the event up which states that it is part of a WWE tour. Anyone got any ideas or more details on this? Is it a WCW comeback or just a simple mistake?
Guest Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 Well it says "WWE TOUR OF DEFIANCE" What's up with that? Defiance? Maybe Shane is coming back to defy the stipulations of his team's loss at the Survivor Series... eugh.
Guest caboose Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 Hmmm.... Very Interesting... Especially as up until a few months back, The July 2002 PPV was still listed as 'InVasion: The InVasion Continues', on wwf.com.
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 Wait a Tic... RAW is in ATL tonight... Ric Flair "owns" the RAW brand... Maybe just maybe he's gonna switch the Brand Name over to WCW RAW... nah... That would be silly... Or even better WCW Nitro ... Muhahahahahah
Guest Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 I would be so happy if that happens..so very, very happy.... WCW 4 Life
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 WCW 4 Life Unfortunately it's still WWE... But maybe this could be part of that big shake up Vince was talking about on Byte This. He looked sincere that he knew that there are glaring issues with his programing and how he wants to fix them.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 WcW has the stigma of being a loser. Vince wouldn't want any part of his company to inherit that stigma.

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 hmm...I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand...its dumb. On the other hand its ghey. On the third hand...it's something we havent seen in...what? 5 months? Sounds like a lock to me.
Guest Human Fly Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 This could be decent if done right. But if it's just a hotshot angle to try and grab ratings then it will suck and suck bad. There hasn't been rumor one about this for months. It's hard to believe that something this big could slip under the radar without one person hearing about it. That worries me that it is true, and the WWE will throw this out here and we'll get another "huge" angle that can't fail that after a few months of poor planning and booking as well as pot holes we'll be even worse off then we are now.

Guest caboose Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 The Plot Thickens... Or rather sickens... In all likelihood yes.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Too bad all the cruisers are on Smackdown. If they want to make Raw WCW, they'd need them
Guest Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 [sarcasm]I don't think it would suck at all if there was a new Invasion! Hell let's have a new invasion every week! THIS DECEMBER WATCH THE WWE TREMBLE BEFORE MIGHTY XPW![/sarcasm] Of course I was kidding about that. But it'd be nice to see a redone version of the Invasion at the right time, you know with Flair, Goldberg, Steiner, ReyRey signed, since those were people uniquely WCW that people could identify WCW with. And maybe they won't get this ECW with the McMahons bullshit going again, ECW is one man, and one man only, Paul Heyman.
Guest NoCalMike Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Maybe they think the southern wrestling crowd would purchase tickets if they were fooled into thinking it was actually WCW coming to town, haha....who knows....
