The NWO

Currently the NWO has not been the significant force in the WWF that everyone had been expecting.  IMO, the main reason for this is that the gimmickry associated with the faction has become stale and the original theme does not work in the WWF.  People tend to forget that the reason the NWO was so successful back in WCW was that they were portrayed as WWF wrestlers conducting an invasion of WCW and that their disruptive tactics worked largely because they were fresh and new at the time.  Since then, both the NWO and DX have beaten that sort of behavior into the ground so that there is virtually nothing that the NWO can do these days that most fans have not seen a million times before.

Also, the original NWO had wielded outrageous political clout in WCW so they rarely were made to look bad.  Vince McMahon does not have the same tolerance for political bullshit that ERic Bischoff did.  At this point, the NWO is little more than a group of has-beens utilizing an outdated gimmick to ham up TV screens across the country.

Because of this, I recommend that the NWO be dissolved and its more talented members be pushed as singles wrestlers.  Booker T  and Goldust were doing just fine before they joined and they will be better off without them.

If X-Pac were to ditch those idiot "friends" of his, he might be able to salvage something of his career.  Right now, the only point to his existence is to keep Kevin Nash from having to job.  I think it is a travesty that an underrated worker like him can be reduced to a Jobber to the Stars lackey to some washed up losers like Nash and Hall.  Give the guy a legitimate chance at standing on his own.

As for Nash, and Big Show, I reccomend that they be sent down to OVW until they learn how not to suck in the ring.

Michaels should manage someone who needs a mouthpiece and a rub.

Well, what do you people think about my recomendations?

I think they should just kill da gimmick. it's lost everything.

Hello, they just stepped in to make the nWo strong

Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash.  Those three alone should be able to get the nWo over, even ::laughs:: as FACES.

X-Pac and Show are a joke. But now they're trying. Besides, I mark for HBK, and want to see what they do with this

You've pretty much nailed it right there.

Unfortunately, Vince is friends with both HBK and Nash, so the nWo aren't going away so easily. Believe me, I've been praying for the demise of these losers ever since the rumours started at the beginning of the year. Now with HBK in the mix, it's gonna be even tougher to bury these dinosaurs.

And the worst part is, they had to leech onto Booker T just when he was really hitting his stride toward becoming a full-fledged face.  Sigh...maybe a KOTR win will get him away from these talentless slugs once and for all.

(And can you imagine Goldust, the unrecognized Queen of the Ring?!? Priceless.

:)

HBK might buy the NWO some time, but I still think it's on the way out. With Booker T., Nash, HBK, and Goldust (sort of) in the mix most of the guys are getting cheers anyway. If HBK wrestles he's going to get even more cheers probably, and that will kill it even faster. NWO as a face group would suck, if they are serious about trying to get them back over as heels, they need to do a beatdown on someone other then Crash Holly.

Michaels is as close to being crippled as one can get without actually being crippled.  He is not going to wrestle and the NWO already has a mouthpiece in Kevin Nash.  I do not see what the former Heartbreak Kid can contribute to the NWO that would strengthen the group.  It is more like he is just some more dead weight on the roster.

IMO, the only reason Vince brought the NWO back was to sell some t-shirts. He owns the gimmick now, might as well get some loot out of it.  Does anyone know how well NWO souvenirs sell? The best gauge of how long the NWO will be around is how long does the merch sell...

And what's worse... he's dead weight with stroke. He'll monopolize precious tv time and keep guys like D'Lo and Raven from getting their faces out there like they need to.

ok so Booker T is out.

This leaves Michaels, Nash, X-Pac and Big Show.  Only two of those guys can currently wrestle in any capacity.  The NWO is sure looking lean right now.  They need to add more workers.  You can't have X-Pac and Big Show as your main talent (they need to be sidekicks/filler) and get anywhere.

Is adding HHH the final piece?  Shawn Michaels' comment tonight about "Rock taking the spotlight away from Hunter" could be foreshadowing for HHH turning to the NWO when Rock comes back.

Even with HHH, I don't think the NWO would be complete.  Again, do you really want X-Pac or Big Show as your second most credible wrestler.  Do you add one more?  I would want Scott Steiner but medically he might not be much better off than Shawn Michaels.   Who else is a possibility?

It just seems like with the addition of Michaels they are now serious about pushing the NWO back to being a main-event level stable.  But if so, they DO need more wrestlers.

So, basically, the NWO is a tag team with two managers?  Hah.

The recent Home Video did pretty well, but that may be because they're finally starting to wake up and realize that they can capitalize on all this WCW footage they bought.

I suspect for a good many years WWE products and gimmicks that drive off of WCW will be at least semi-successful, since it only started it's descent into destruction four years ago.

Maybe it'll make Vince realize that throwing WCW away & pretending it never existed is a huge waste of money just to please his own ego.

Kicking ot Booker T was the worst thing they could have done to the nWo. Booker T was the ONLY member to be both  A. Over and B. A decent worker.

X Pac can be carried but fans still chant X Pac sucks, Big Slow is a lost cause, HBK is reitred and Nash is hurt.

They need to add members to the nWo who can get over with the fans, this is essential if Nash wants them to be faces, and do decent ring work. There are only a few guys who meet those standards.

1. Kanyon

2. Mike Awesome

3. Justin Credible (he's not as bad as most say)

4. Rob Van Dam

I can wait a long time to see either of them again, like forever.
