Regarding the HBK "shoot"

Well, if this was simply a one-time "shoot" for shock-value then that is one thing, however, the random Rock/HHH comment suggests otherwise.  I sincerely hope that this will not lead back down to the road of the same 5 guys staying on top, and having the WWE once again dump any hope at pushing some new blood into the main event.  If Austin is gone for good or a long time(along with Rock) then they WWE may have no choice but to push new talent, but if they both happen to come back anytime soon, then along with UT and HHH I have a feeling we are going to have to draw back the wrestling clocks a few years.......ARGH, DAMN YOU VINCE

With Rock going to the movies, Austin considering where his future is, etc. Vince has seen that pushing the same old guys leads to their heads getting big. He's seen this before. Bret was convinced he was a legitimate Canadian Hero, after all.

Vince has no choice but to push newer guys because the longer the older guys hang around, the looser their loyalty becomes.

Well, it's not the The Clique 2002 consists of a lot of wrestlers, so I'd say we're safe. Triple H was going to be one of the main event guys anyway. HBK isn't going to wrestle. Nash probably won't either. Scott Hall is gone. And if they put the IC or World title on X-Pac, the other wrestlers would stage a mutiny.

I don't see how it's a random comment..

HBK was talking about Hunter & Rock's feud from 1999/2000.

Just like he was talking about how "Austin stole" his spotlight at WM14..

It was another one of those "worked comments that are supposed to sound like a shoot" in order for the smarts to get their panties in a bunch. Hell, even THAT reason is reading too much into it. It was nothing.

I'm with mach7. HBK's comments weren't anything to get worked up over. Now, the only upside to Austin seemingly being gone for good is they HAVE to push someone new at the top.

If only Triple H threw that hissy fit and not Austin. Sigh....

Lavesque could damn well take a shit on national television making jericho eat it while screaming "SUCK IT"

Well maybe he'd be depushed.  He'd let jericho get 2 punches of offense on him before he pedigree'd him through a flaming table.

I think the cage was supposed to collapse at HIAC actually ...

fuck michaels and his little "shoot" comments.  i believe that the fans made the rock who he is today so michaels can place the blame on them.  he's mad because austin and rock went on to become bigger than he had ever dreamed of being and he's fucking jealous.

At least one report (forget where it's from, but it's on 411) says the comment was okay'ed by Management.

The Rock comment from Shawn was just weird. If he was referring to the HHH/Rock fued of 99/2000, what was the point? HHH is a face who isn't supposed to have any sort of connection with the nWo other than being former friends. Even so, only a select few will remember that/care. They haven't acknowledged Hunter's presence since the nWo came back. There wasn't any real reason for it. It was just stupid.

I believe it's kind of like the Madison Square Garden incident, where the entire Kliq had a group hug.  "Heels" and "faces" shown as friends.  I hate "heels" and "faces" so I don't really give a damn.

The comment was probably just HBK trying to get into Hunter's good graces again, considering the possition he's in. They supposedly haven't seen eye to eye recently, so it's probably just Shawn trying to put out the smoke.

For all the stories about Hunter and Shawn always laying into Rock for how bad he was, it's funny how Michaels could claim that Rock was somehow stealing Hunter's spotlight, even in a worked sense. Michaels is a druggy, so it doesn't really matter.

Maybe HBK was foreshadowing HHH's inevitable heel turn. Plus, if you look at the most recent storylines that HBK was involved in, he does have reason to say such a thing. First there was the first episode of Smackdown, when HBK kicked Rock and helped HHH win the title. Then there was the Judgemnt Day match where HBK's referee's decision cost Rock the title.

Redhawk, you are right, but the WWE's probably wasn't thinking that way when they allowed Michael's to make his comment.  Hell, they don't remember what happened this morning.
