Guest Mole Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 On this Friday, I am going away for the whole summer to work at a camp. Throughout the summer, I was going to have my pops record wrestling for me, and send it to me. But after last night's Raw, I am very disapointed in the WWE. So should I boycott the WWE for the summer, and come back to it when I get back. Or should I record it and watch it? I am down with this boycott, but who is with me?
Guest buffybeast Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Unless you have the internet, if you stop watching, you won't know what is happening in the wrestling world. If your dad is willing to tape the shows for you, then have him do it. I can't boycott wrestling just yet. I didn't stop watching in 1993-96 so I won't stop now.

I have it, but I won't use for wrestling if I plan on boycotting it.
Guest Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 I dunno man, it's getting rather amusing watching them self-distruct very very slowly.

Guest papacita Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 At least the storylines had solid logic from 93-96. This shit they're putting on now is legitimately bad. Since the first Raw in 93, with the exception of the period in late 2000 where I didn't have cable, I had missed only 3 Raws. In the last 3 weeks, I've missed 2 Raws and a Smackdown and didn't even care. I probably won't boycott, but WWE is is serious danger of losing a longtime fan.
Guest Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 When Foley left, I pretty much stopped watching it regularly. And lately it sucks, plus my sattelite is off so yes I'm in.
Guest Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Yeah right If you guys boycot you'll be missing the opportunity to see Benoit back in the ring. To boycott the WWE would be to boycott Jesus H Benoit, and to boycott Jesus H Benoit would be blasphemy plain and simple The WWE isn't going to self destruct. You guys are morons if you truly think that. If there's one thing I can't stand is smarks running around with a "sky is falling" attitude. The WWE is still turning a profit. The ratings are low but they're still high enough to call RAW in the top 5 of the highest rated programs on cable. Attendance is down but it's not to dangerous levels. The WWE has seen times worse than this and they've survived Of course maybe thats just the optimist in me.
Guest fazzle Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 I'm not gonna call it a boycott, because by doing that, I would be instilling a false sense of importance in it. But yes, I am going to stop watching wrestling for the next few months, it's just...boring to me now. Maybe it'll be better(or at least seem better) when I go back to it.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 I wouldn't boycott. Why? I respect my favorites more than that. Sure, things suck right now. But if you just stop watching, guys like RVD, Eddy, Benoit, Jericho, Angle, Storm will never get a push. I'll watch, if only to see my favorite people out there, and hopefully winning. -Shiro
Guest Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Boycott? And miss all those great nWo segments? Are you mad, man? No, seriously, don't boycott because if you do, then they'll blame the ratings drop on Jericho/Benoit/Angle/Guerrero!
Guest Mole Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Okay, maybe boycott was the wrong word. I would take a break from wrestling, from June 14 to Aug 20. If there were any really good matches that I missed, I'll get the tape somewhere. Benoit, Eddie, Jericho, Booker, Angle, and others will still be around when I get back, atleast I hope. I probably won't end up doing it, I love wrestling way too much, it was just a thought.

Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Or the troll in you. How is that a troll? Maybe it goes against popular opinion in here but do you HAVE to claim the WWF is going to bankrupt overnight to fit in around here?
Guest goodhelmet Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 i gave up on logical storylines a long time ago. if the wwe puts eddy and rvd out there for 10 minutes every monday and kurt puts on **** matches at the ppvs and benoit is returning and booker appears to be getting a major babyface push and the cruisers get 10-15 minutes to showcase on the ppv (while getting three minutes on tv) then i see no reason to boycott. if i could stomach watching the crap they were putting out when hogan returned then i can definitely watch the crap they're putting out now!
Guest alfdogg Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Or the troll in you. How is that a troll? Maybe it goes against popular opinion in here but do you HAVE to claim the WWF is going to bankrupt overnight to fit in around here? First of all, I never claimed anything about bankruptcy. My point was we were having a intelligent conversation about something, and all of a sudden he comes in here and calls us all morons basically for stating our opinions. And that IS being a troll. It's not the first time he's done something like that, either.
Guest alfdogg Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 Any way, back on topic. I'll probably watch during the summer, but I won't watch if HHH has the belt. I'll just use the net to find out what happens.

I've been watching wrestling for 16 years now, and I don't have the slightest intent of stopping no matter how shitty or half assed it gets. I just bare with it.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 I dunno...Vince on my TV and the general rape of steady direction sucks, but I really like the Raw undercard, am getting interested in the Hardys again, mostly like the nWo/Booker stuff, and, odd as it may seem, find Taker a pretty nice change of pace as champ. I still find a bit of hope there, even if roid-o-rama Vince is wanking all over the programming as best as he can.
Guest Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 Or the troll in you. Oh I see how it is, I guess if I have a differing opinion than most of you, then I'm automatically considered a troll. Kind of strange really... on other message boards that I frequent about a wide variety of topics, people don't sit back and call me a troll, they debate me. But on here, the moment I break from the normal train of smarkish thought and actually challenge some of your ideas, I'm considered a troll. lol that's great ADDED: Oh yeah and for the record, I didn't call anyone a moron in here specifically. It's not like a pointed at someone and said "hey, you're a moron!"
