Guest Quik Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 I saw the move in WCW plenty of times, but since Helms hasn't done it in a while, I just can't remember all the details of it. How did he set his opponent up for it? Getting back to back with your opponent upside down and facing away is a fairly difficult position; how? Thanks guys.
Guest Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Also See Krypthonite Crunch... Its a Over the Shoulder Belly to back Piledriver with the victim set upside down on the attackers back, and the Attack takes a few running steps for momentum and JUST Sits with the victim dropping "head First" on the mat behind him.
Guest Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Somebody has a pic of it in their sig. Another victim of the Glass ceiling.

Thanks; but I'm talking about the actual set-up. Like Christian sets up for the Unprettier by grabbing his opponent's arms from behind, spins him around and then drops. This is driving me nuts. I can't remember how he actually got him in that position. Thanks again.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Helms starts it off in the unprettier position (not the double chicken-wing, but the position right before christian drops), spins around and lifts em up.

Guest notJames Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Also See Krypthonite Crunch... Actually, the Kryptonite Krunch is different. First off, it's set up as a reversal of a piledriver attempt, where the victim's legs are over the attacker's shoulders and the rest of his body is draped on the back of the attacker, chest to back. Then, the attacker reaches back and pulls the victim's head forward, so he's facing up into his armpit. Then, the attacker sits down, essentially compressing the victim's neck and bumping his head into the mat. Maybe you can call it a modified reverse KK, but they're definitely two different moves. I'm sure Dace will chime in with his 2 cents momentarily...
Guest DragonflyKid Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Go to http://www.shanehelms.com where he has video clips of the vertebreaker. Also check out his diary as they are interesting reads.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 In Legends of Wrestling the Kryptonite Krunch is set up from a Belly to Belly
Guest Dace59 Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 In Legends of Wrestling the Kryptonite Krunch is set up from a Belly to Belly Strange set up, it's correct set up is from a piledriver counter. Or from the opp. in a Fireman's Carry (called the Callidonian Safe Maker)
Guest Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 I gotta say that the vertebreaker has never done anything for me. Yeah, the end result looks cool, but the set-up for it is so ridiculously complex. If you're gonna nearly paralyze someone, make it short and efficient, sez I.
Guest BlackRainbow1025 Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 The Vertebreaker isn't complicated to set up. You duck down and hook the person's arms, like you were about to get the Unprettier. You lift up, the guy is up. You drop down, he hits the mat. It's just as complicated as any other move. As most moves were, this was in Japan first. I think it was called the Reverse Kudo Driver, or maybe just the Kudo Driver. Either way, Megumi Kudo did the move. The Kryptonite Krunch is also called the Air Raid Crush or more recently, the Shubain. I can't remember the woman's name who did the Air Raid but CIMA from Toryumon does the Shubain.
Guest Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 Is there a site wich describes moves? Cause it gets annoying when I;m reading a puro review and they say a move and I'm like "what?" thanks
Guest Dace59 Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 No, they are all total piles of trash that make huge mistakes. If you have questions, ask me, either here, on MSN or byu E-mail. I think it was called the Reverse Kudo Driver, or maybe just the Kudo Driver the Kudo Driver is a type of sheer drop tiger driver. The name for the move in Spinning Inverted Kudo Driver.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 13, 2002 Report Posted June 13, 2002 Hey Yo! Helms did hit AJ Styles with it on Metal a few months back. And here is your Vertabreaker:
