Political BS or not, they've got stable jobs and secure, large, pay checks. Getting out of your contract to start up a new promotion from scratch is a huge risk. I highly doubt someone like Jericho is going to take that risk over being pinned in HIAC. Not really. WCW couldn't find anyone. Maybe. But no other new promotion can get a TV deal.

Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 See, cool as that thought might be, wrestling employment is just like any other sports-business in that way, and a lot of other businesses in the fact that, even if your product isn't so great, you still make money. Plus, a lot of these guys are signed to extended contracts, and chances are Vince isn't going to let them go under any circumstances. Hell, he signed frickin' HAKU just to screw with WCW. No way he's going to let someone high-profile leave when they're under contract.

This also works on getting a girl to break up with you. All Vince would have to do then is job them out, stick them on Velocity, or just not use them. There's no way he would fire them or let them quit if he had any hint of an idea that they would start up a competing fed. And after jobbing/burying/not using them, they wouldn't have any credibility anyway.

What if Austin, Flair and Heyman are behind the scenes plotting to take down Vince from inside. They could convince the younger guys who are either current stars or will be future stars that Vince won't give them a fair chance to become true stars. Then they could start a new fed, but theyh would likely just join Jarret's fed. This is all unlikely seeing as how it's too good to be true. However i'll still be holding out hope.
