Think about it! They could produce comedy gold in the backstage sketches, and given the right guy, Helms and ?? could back it up in the ring. A good time is had by all. --> Speaking of Hurricane, does anyone see him ever getting high on the food chain with his current gimmick? --> Some people are wondering why JR "turned on" Austin in the Ross Report. Turned on him? He told the BAH GAWD truth. Austin walking out was a truly stupid, unprofessional, selfish, and crappy thing to do. Yes, it was ALL of those adjectives... and more! JR called it right. Austin is what got me interested in wrestling again (I stopped mid 90's), and I was a huge fan of his for a while. He had a great run. I might even miss the bastard. But that doesn't change the fact that he really screwed everyone over, and he deserves to be canned. Good riddance. --> Speaking of which... hey JR, there's this little snot named X-Pac... --> Anyone else think wrestler themes, especially RVD's, need to be played a little louder? I happen to like "One of a Kind", I think it compliments RVD well, and I'd rather hear that as he walks down to ringside than "RRRRAAAAAAGGGH!" from the crowd. I'm not saying drown out the fans, but still... louder = better. And the pyro in RVD's is pointless. --> Is the winner of KOTR getting a Title shot at SummerSlam? Some people said they heard that, others didn't... is there a place to read this, or what? Yea... Discuss...

Guest Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Why the Hell didn't Storm or Kidman get KOTR shots? I thought Storm and Test had "problems" with Triple H? They drop that angle already? Shouldn't they have waited until the next PPV to finally show Angle's bald head? Oh, this one really bugs me. How come everyone in the WWE and some on here think Smackdown is the better Show? IMO, RAW has been better then SD since the entire "split" has happen. With the exception of maybe two shows. Seems like they are just kissing up to Vince. also, Taker still seems to get bashed on here even though he's been doing a pretty good job of putting younger talent over. btw, I hope Taker keeps the belt until SummerSlam. Then, drops it to RVD, Benoit or Eddie.

I doubt it, but it just seems weird that they had Stacy hate the kiss from Vince this week. Kind of makes me think of Heyman booking and the two girls are just setting Vince up.

I'm looking forward to the Helms/Knoble feud, actually. Adding Nidia is kinda iffy, but I haven't been horribly put off by her in this role yet. I'm liking the "Mickey & Mallory" vibe they have going. And does that mean you don't think Knoble can back it up in the ring? If so, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Looks like we caught us a real live superhero!" in a grating redneck tone. I'd love to be proven wrong, but at the moment, I don't see much promise in this angle.

Anyone remember a long while back, when Triple H and Vince were at odds (Trips was a heel), and Vince made him fight five times on the show. He had to win 3 out of 5 matches to get something. I remember the matches were specialty matches against... well, whoever would be best in them. I can't remember what all the matches were, though. He had a Chokeslam Challenge against the Big Show, which he lost... He had a Boiler Room Brawl against Mankind, which he won with "mystery" interference. He had a Brama Bullrope match against the Rock, which I think he won... Anyone remember the others?

Inferno match with Kane(won). Casket match with Undertaker, which was turned into Mideon & Viscera when UT walked out(lost). Boiler room brawl with Mankind(won). Brahma Bull Rope Match with Rock(won).

Most definately, but you forget, this is the WW E. We're not allowed to be entertained by a high energy, kick ass, high flying exciting wrestling match. We need scripts, storylines, skits, gimmicks, swerves and occasionally wrestling to be entertained. With that in mind, it would make for some good bad comedy to have a supervillian come in and fued with Hurricane. It would go down in history as wrestlecrap but for the time it would be amusingly entertaining. Helms plays the part of the Hurricane perfectly, and I love how he incorporates the gimmick into his matches. One of the funniest memories was when he went for the double choke slam on HHH and Austin at the RR. Having said that, he will not reach ME status with the current gimmick (in a fantasy world where it's conceivable for a cruiser to reach the ME). Comedy gimmicks get you over with the fans, but the comedy keeps them from being taken seriously. Dropping the Hurricane gimmick and doing a big FU fans heel turn are the only way he could be elevated out of the midcard.
